Sure. They don’t do testing for free here. You can pay for a test at the pharmacies. Walgreens only has free testing at “select locations,” none of which are in my county. The county health department is useless. And seems to be run by COVID deniers. A while back they announced they would no longer be doing contact

You normally don’t have to touch anything using Walmart’s self check-out. Scan the items, bag them, then bring up Walmart Pay on the phone and point it at the code on the screen, done. Even if you don’t use Walmart Pay, you can still insert your card in the terminal and remove it without touching anything.

There are no free testing sites anywhere in my county.

Why list the Fossil Gen 5 instead of the Gen 6? The Gen 6 looks and feels even nicer, and is slated to be updated to Wear OS 3.

The dozen of us in my area at work have all become coffee snobs. We have a Keurig, but it basically never gets used anymore. A couple of us use a French press, and several others are doing pour over. I experimented with brew times, and I found 4-1/2 minutes best for my coffee. I do use a fairly fine grind, but I try

I was kidding of course, but I do like a few good pork rinds occasionally.

Can I get the same effect from just eating pork rinds?

Unfortunately, if you’re actually on ice it doesn’t matter much what you do. You’re not going to stop until you’re not on ice, or until you hit something that stops you. On snow, gravel, wet pavement, etc., ABS can maybe help you out. Ice is terrible.

Could be punk band names?

A lot of the Square POS terminals are built around an iPad anyway. This new tech might work for individuals at a show or something looking to accept tap-to-pay, but it would be pretty inconvenient for a POS terminal. You need for the customer to be able to get to it easily, and it would be kind of ridiculous to say,

Our middle daughter loved The Cosby Show, and for her 16th birthday we took her to see one of his stand-up shows. That’s such a weird memory for all of us now all these years later. :-/

Automatic seat belts, in that brief period around 1987-88 between when active restraint was mandated, but airbags weren’t ubiquitous yet. The seat belt either was attached to the rear edge of the door and you had to kind of slide in under it as you got in, or it was motorized in a track around the door frame and prone

You’re in the rich category then.

Whew! I had a Chevette in college in the 80s. One day on the way to school, I was coming to a stoplight and went to downshift...and the shifter came off in my hand. Not just the knob, the entire shift lever. Luckily it was in second gear, and I was able to make my way home. The metal cup that held the lever in place ha

Isn’t it Ketanji instead of Kentaji?

My dad has an ‘82 LTD wagon with less than 30K on it. He wasn’t planning to buy it, but it came up on the block at an auction he was at, and it wasn’t getting any bids. It was literally one of those “old lady only drove it to church on Sunday” cars. This isn’t it, but it looks just like this:

Ha! I still have an old Nalgene lab bottle my dad gave me probably 35 years ago on which he wrote “Formalin” in marker and drew a skull and crossbones. I don’t remember why I needed some formalin.

Yep, for a long time my morning routine has been: take medicine, floss, then brush and don’t rinse the toothpaste out. 30 minutes or so later I’ll have coffee. I haven’t had a cavity in years.

That reminds me of a somewhat hard lesson I learned as I grew up. My dad was a chemist, so I was always science-oriented. I was the kid who voluntarily did three science fair projects in one year. I had a mental picture of hordes of scientists all over the world, studying different topics, looking for answers to all

I feel like that scientist in the lead image should be wearing gloves!
