Like several others here, I suggest California Olive Ranch. It’s easily available (even at Walmart here), affordable, and pretty darn good. I really like the grassy, peppery flavor of a good EV olive oil.

For us, probably about a week in general. We often freeze single or double servings of soup after a couple of days, since it’s a thing that tends to get made in larger batches. We’ve been eating lentil stew for the past few days, and it’s about time to freeze the rest of that, because I think I’ve had enough for a

We found a small frog in the bathroom a couple of years ago. Not really sure how it got there, unless it got into the attic through an eave vent, then into the bathroom fan that used to go into the attic (I’ve since fixed that situation so it vents outside like it should).

I don’t know, I grew up in the Midwest (Southern Illinois), and 99 Luftballons was relatively popular here. I even heard both the English and German versions when I was in HS.

Gen X: We’re still bitter about disco

Oh, the dumb things we did as kids. I was just remembering being a HS freshman and riding in the trunk along with a girl to a church youth group event. We had the car packed with kids, and the only place we would fit was in the trunk. It was probably an Olds Delta 88. It seemed like half the families in town had one

Not exactly a sound coming from the car itself, but I think it should be illegal for radio stations to play car horn or siren sounds. Almost any time it happens, it jolts me with adrenaline as I jerk my head around to see if somebody is about to hit me. I’d rather they play Carlin’s 7 words, but get fined by the FCC fo

Yep, it has been majority Republican-appointed since 1968. I was born in ‘66, and Democrats have controlled the government (meaning control of 2 out of the 3 branches) only 8 years during my lifetime.

I graduated from HS in ‘84. Lots of feelings of nostalgia reading this. It’s missing my early HS uniform, though, of jeans, t-shirt, and unbuttoned flannel shirt. I probably wore that at least 50% of the time my freshman and sophomore years.

Really worth watching:

Cream, sugar, eggs, and vanilla premixed in one convenient package :-)

Also, depending on what you’re cooking, chopping the garnish first might save you having to wash the cutting board in between steps, because you chopped raw chicken on it or something.

I dunno...sweet, creamy, crunchy, acidic, salty. Add a savory slice of prosciutto or something, and it would cover all the flavor bases! And still probably taste terrible.

I don’t think these would be at all like the ones my Polish great aunt used to make. I think she used nothing but flour, butter, salt, and melted vanilla ice cream for the dough, and always used apricot jam for the filling. They were really delicious, but more of a cookie than a pastry.

I’m 55, and we did it at a birthday party when I was around 10. That’s my only experience with it, though.

I was thinking about getting a lion, but this article gave me paws.

Yes

(I can’t stop giggling inside over, “If you like a little head....”) But I agree with your point about a little heat. It’s surprising how much a pinch of cayenne can improve dishes, including veggies and even some desserts. I find that I like just enough that it would make me say, “Is there a little cayenne or

Love the pic next to the pay phone!

Woo, man. My last year of college, my wife and I rented a house in the country outside of town. The first time I turned on the oven, there was the most god-awful smell. I don’t know how many mice had nested in the walls of the oven, but there were a several. I had to open the doors and windows and air the place out
