I’ve never bought a tomato anywhere, even a farmer’s market, that tasted as good as a homegrown one. It’s like they’re two completely different vegetables. I’m convinced that homegrown tomato, mayo, and crispy bacon on toast is an absolutely perfect food. Lettuce is superfluous on this, so it’s just a BT instead of a B…
We have a local hibachi restaurant like that, and they always have trouble finding chefs. I haven’t eaten there since my birthday over 2 years ago, and even back then the food was great but the “show” was minimal. Which is fine with me! Give me the good food! Even if I was the only one at the table who caught the bit…
The yellow dress definitely reminds me a bit of the 80s, like the dresses my wife and her mom made for things like the homecoming dance when we were in high school.
Peak Bert and Ernie :)
I’m in rural Illinois, and I pay $190 per week for family medical insurance through my job, with a $3000 per person deductible. I know it’s not news, but medical prices are out of control in the United States. Single payer now!
When I first saw that picture I thought it was sumac, which is waaay underappreciated in the United States. I have a daughter who lives overseas in a place where it’s used a lot, and after visiting her I went on a quest to harvest some wild sumac. It used to be really common here in Illinois, but I had a surprisingly…
They don’t work for me in Edge either, with either uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger enabled.
I sometimes do this with my wife, explaining a problem I’m having at work, and often in the course of explaining, the solution will become evident. She’s patient with me; and she’s had 36 years to get used to it!
And along those lines, Frito Lay has paid for nearly all the shelf space in the chip aisle.
Pretty much the same for me. As a kid in the 70s in the Midwest, I think the only dressings we ever had were Thousand Island, Green Goddess, and what my mom made (which was just Miracle Whip, milk, and sugar mixed together). Now as an old guy who has tasted infinitely more things, I prefer a good balsamic vinaigrette.
Should be no problem for the hot dogs, because they usually already come in two individually sealed packs of 5.
Jesus take the Tweel.
Some kind of Mustang Ranch joke seems like it goes here, but I’m too lazy to think it through any further.
I think most people don’t realize that dishwashers don’t use a lot of water, just 3-5 gallons per load for most newish ones, probably less than you would use if you did them by hand. They don’t actually spray fresh water all the time they’re running. They instead load up with some fresh water, and spray and recirculate…
Sounds delicious. This is similar to what I had last night for supper, the remains of the cucumber and tomato salad I made on Sunday. It was pretty straight-forward with the aforementioned veggies, plus fresh oregano, salt, pepper, rice wine vinegar, olive oil, and I added some extra quality balsamic vinegar to what I…
I was never much of a drinker, but I do remember my wife and I buying Bartles & Jaymes wine coolers when we were in college. I think the only Boone’s Farm I’ve seen lately was their blackberry wine.
That picture looks pretty good, TBH. Now I’m really hungry!
I mean, it can’t even have actually been Branson on the bike, since there was no naked supermodel on his back or anything.
