I don’t think this matters if you’re running your own local controller, does it? We are using Ubiquiti access points, but we run our own controller here, not on AWS. There’s not really any connection to anything outside our network.

Right. It's been a while. :-)

I think the ones I have are halfs, 17x14 inches, but even these are really useful. Another thing I’d also advise people is to stay away from non-stick cookie sheets. They may not stick, but dark colored sheets mean unless you're very careful you’ll burn the bottoms of every cookie. Use good heavy bare aluminum for

“blanching them in cold water” Blanching them then placing in cold water? Blanching requires boiling water or steam.

I don’t know about lately, but of course they’ve never been the same since they quit using lard years and years ago. They can still be good, but they used to be great.

The best one I can think of is: Don’t butter the bread when making a grilled cheese or other grilled sandwich!  It’s waaay easier to put butter in the pan first to melt and cook out the water, and it gives you better results, too. Then put in the sandwich and brown one side nicely. For absolutely best results, pull it

We do this with pans, but not with cookies on a cookie sheet. Several years ago I got a couple of good restaurant-quality aluminum cookie sheets (no edges—that makes it a pan), and those things are amazingly great for cookies. Most cookie recipes have enough fat that they never stick to the bare aluminum sheets, and

Probably it’s “par-fried.”

I’m in the sticks; I have to drive 25 miles even to find a Kroger. :) I’ll probably clarify some butter myself. We have plenty on-hand.

It’s fixed, apparently. I can star again.

Oh, good, I thought the star thing was just my browser/ad blocker.

It was the original reason I learned how to do things myself. Now here I am almost 25 years later, and I’ve gone from doing brakes (which are generally so easy it’s robbery what they charge for a brake job), to rebuilding a couple of engines. I’m at the point (okay, the age) now where I don’t always want to do the

All the pictures I’ve seen of cards online seem to have four lines for info, but mine and my wife’s only have two lines. (Which are now both filled in! Yay!) I guess there are different cards in different states?

I really need to either buy or make some ghee. It would be perfect for this, making grilled cheese, etc. When I make grilled cheese I always let the water cook out of the butter before putting the sandwich in, anyway, and I could skip that step with ghee.

I’m old enough to remember (barely) when Hardee’s bought out Sandy’s! For a long time when I was a kid, there were no Arby’s around here, so Hardee’s was the only place to get a “roast beef” sandwich.

Get one of Tony Beets’ dredges in there. He’s not using them to mine gold.

Eh, without knowing more it’s not necessarily that simple. You’d have to know what the traffic flow is like. If 90% of the traffic is following one path, it could change what otherwise seems like the obvious solution. I don’t know anything about the traffic at this intersection.

Ha! That reminds me of when we had a family graduation party for my daughter. I had a jar of seasoning from a sauce company (Country Bob’s All-Purpose Sauce, made in my hometown!), and I thought it was a rub. It apparently was not a rub but a seasoned salt, because whoo the chicken I rubbed it on and grilled was salty!

But when the tissue of the plant is damaged—say, when you slice into it or grate it while cooking

I love that you had White Castle at your wedding! My daughter had Chick-fil-A at hers. It was simple, affordable, and fun.
