Joy of Cooking is great. We got one as a wedding gift in 1985. It has the absolute best ever peanut butter cookie recipe. I can make them from memory now.

Ooo, we have at least one of those with that pattern, too!

I always make stock with the Thanksgiving turkey carcass and freeze it. It makes great soup or turkey and noodles. I don’t let it boil, though. I let mine simmer a long time, often 24 hours or more. I stick a digital cooking thermometer through the little hole in the top of my stock pot lid, and keep it about 195

It’s more complicated than that, even. I live in a rural county in downstate Illinois. Although this area is pretty solidly Republican, we still vote about 40-45% Democrat.

Their crispy chicken strips were my favorite fast food chicken strips. :(

To each his own, I guess, but I tried the new fries a couple of days ago, and I thought they were pretty good. The wedges, at least at my local KFCs, were always soggy and bad.

Nothing works as well and as easily as a lemon squeezer. Note the proper orientation of the lemon half below. Anybody who’s never used one of these before seems to want to put the lemon in the wrong way, which will get you some juice but make an absolute mess in the process.

I sometimes mix up my own quick batch as a snack. I just use whatever crispy stuff we have: Chex, Cheerios, pretzels, Cheez-Its (great addition), bagel or pita chips, and nuts. Put some of that in a glass bowl, then in another bowl melt some butter and add Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, seasoned

Easy on kids? No, best case it’s a bad couple of weeks of extremely itchy welts all over your body that make you absolutely miserable. My sister still has scars 45 years later from scratching them. And bonus, if you had chicken pox you can get shingles when you’re older, and shingles are effing terrible, let me tell

My wife and I just watched Big Night last week. It was...kinda depressing! So then we watched a British film, The Bookshop. We like books a lot at our house. The blurb on it sounded fun. Wow, that one was really depressing. :( For the last few days I’ve been binging Arrested Development for something to make me smile

I’m glad you don’t cast aspersions on her cast asparagus.

Oh, memories! I had an ‘89 nearly exactly like that. Same color, same engine, just not the popular options package. No cruise, power windows or locks. We bought it used after the birth of our second child. Eventually traded it on a new ‘98 Grand Voyager, and kept that until last year! I actually miss having a minivan

I remember seeing a plate that was all B’s and 8's a few years ago.

Reading my previous reply now, it seems a little creepy. To be clear, I wasn’t inviting you to my house for Cheez-Its, just noting that we tend to eat a lot of them here sometimes. I mean, someday in the After Times I guess you’re welcome to come over and have some Cheez-Its, but it’s not what I intended.

I also ate leftover brisket last night. (Now, there wouldn’t normally be leftover brisket around my house, but my friend gave me a whole smoked brisket for my birthday, so I still have brisket in the freezer.)

There are always Cheez-Its at our house. :)

I had to fill up my car at lunchtime, but I ended up just coming back to the office instead of getting food. (I work somewhere that has remained open.) I had some beef jerky and a V8 for lunch, because I just didn’t feel like going to any more trouble. Probably got my week’s worth of sodium, I guess!

I got a Spigen stainless steel band for my Fossil Sport that’s very nice. It looks much like the other ss bands you have above.

Or even fried bologna or fried hot dogs, if you don’t have SPAM handy. Mac and cheese, fried bologna, and canned peas and carrots—food of my childhood.

May give this a shot; it’s my son’s 21st birthday, and we love our local Tex-Mex place.
