I hear you, but even though I am a lifelong fan of the series, I still had to lower the difficulty to Easy, as I struggled with some of the (in my opinion) unevenly spaced checkpoints. Perhaps I’m just betting old :)

If nothing else, it sure got the clouds absolutely right! I reviewed the game for a Danish site, and I lamented a bit on the archaic gameplay and the difficulty spikes, but the weather effects, clouds and skies was beyond most that has gone before.
The best? You pretty much showed us them all there, I think :)
Make sure you have absolutely nothing else to do for 50 hours. Then you’ll love Death Stranding.
True words, but too late, I’m afraid. I brute forced my way over the mountains with trucks and tribikes instead, and it worked fine. Or, at least, better than stumbling over my own legs. Repeatedly.
Because it’s a great game!
I agree about Control, but for the love of God, I cannot put Death Stranding on my top-anything list this year. It dragged on for 50 hours, and I had to complete it for my review. Grind can be ok, and I’ve done my part of it in past games, but placing it behind a trek over a mountain (rinse, repeat) is simply not…
I could, but we’re all grownups here. Crying, sure, but grownups.
Loved Control. Played it extensively and walked away with the Platinum trophy. Hate time limits. Hate them. Played Expeditions once, and that’s quite enough. Bring on the storydriven DLC.
Virginia. Nailed it.

No repercussions from the law? I mean, surely the Police would be in a position to charge them with something, now that they have been made aware of the speedy trip? I am pretty sure, they would not be left alone in my country, Denmark.
That is a big part the game: Finding out, what you actually need to find out :)
Ha, yes - I drew a parallel to The Witness as well :) THAT game is pure genius from start to end!
This game blew my mind and ruined my sleep. I have died over and over, and I HATE to admit, that I needed a few pointers to complete the game, but it is easily one of the best puzzle/adventure games ever. Not since The Witness have I obsessed so much over “simple” logic puzzles, solvable with a minimum of tools and a…
Yeah, I covered the missing surfboard in my review - and the game was even more crap without it, believe it or not. Completely impossible to control. Not that it had been a winner WITH the surfboard, but it says something about Rockstar’s thinking, that they omitted this in NA/EU.
It was outstanding! Best in genre to this day.
I revewied this mess (in Danish) back in 2001. The review is still online (https://www.geekculture.dk/arkiver/4499), and as is very apparent from my last sentence, I didn’t think much of the game :)
Guide for using the tuning fork: Do not use the tuning fork on the rose crystal.
I work with computers. That’s why I only play games on consoles.
