I’m 45, so I was probably older than the target group when the game came out, but: I played the hell out of this! Sure, it was goofy, but all the targets gave it a purpose - I couldn’t care less for the skateboarding, I just loved the exploration and collectathon mechancs. The same went for the “real” skate games with

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night should be mentioned. The PAL version goes for over 150 usd, and the game’s a classic as well. Same goes for Tomba/Tombi games. Oh, and the quite rare japanese Tobal 2, which is one of my most prized PS1 games.

Until Uncharted 4 (my GOTY for 2016 so far) my best gaming experiences this year has been in the puzzle department. The Witness and The Talos Principle is brilliant, and I’ve spent close to 100 hours with those two games alone. I’ve also completed games like Shadow Complex Remastered, Mad Max, Just Cause 3, Hitman GO,

I feel sorry for the guys at Hello Games, but I still cannot help getting a little annoyed at the smoothing-out message “a few weeks”. It’s SIX weeks, and that’s more or less all of summer. At least admit it.

“In Poland and in most of the rest of Europe”, this Dane chips in. Nudity just doesn’t seem to press the same buttons for us. We don’t like people carrying guns, though, or firing off rounds on account of some silly “standing your ground” excuse ;)

I agree. Relax a bit, jalopnik.

About time Halo: Reach gets some retro love! In my opinion by far the best game in the series, and it might also have something to do with the fact that it was Bungie’s last Halo game, as you mention too.

Ah, Jumping Flash. The two games of the series is prized possessions in my collection. It was also the first 3D game (together with Dark Forces) that exposed me to heights, that made me terrified to take a virtual fall.

“Oh, yeah. Oooh, ahhh, that’s how it always starts. Then later there’s running and um, screaming.”

Not quite, but that’s the point. You are SUPPOSED to replay the game at a harder level, grinding more powerful weapons and upgrading them and your character. In that respect it actually owes a lot of debt to games like Destiny and Borderlands.

“Players will learn to love these menus.”

You can beat most of the game on the two lowest difficulties (out of three) alone, as there is a lot of checkpoints in each area. The 20th level, however, will not be something to tackle alone. All in all, if you want some of the Legendary weapons, you need to grind - and to do it with team mates.

Tastes differ, but I found Alienation both a different beast to - and better than - Helldivers. That’s not saying it is for everybody, but the more action oriented flow of Alienation (without having to think about setting sentry guns etc. like in Helldivers) just appeals more to me. And, boy, the explosions is nice :)

Yeah, but when? I’ve had the good fortune of reviewing this game, but on a scale from 1-6, I can only give it a 4 when it’s online-only and quite the grind when you are alone. that grade could easily hav ebeen a 5, had I been able to play it co-op with my sons in the couch. As my review goes live tomorrow, I have to

The first WipEout was also supported (as was the the next three games in the series), and that was the only way to get any kind of analog steering for the unforgiving racer. I tested it then with a possible purchase in mind, but I had to go back to purely digital steering, as I was too trained with the normal

I’d love to say Dirt Rally, but it’s just SO hard! Luckily, I had the good fortune of getting a review code for Alienation, and that’s a blast! I can easily recommend that to twin-stick shooter fans and fans of Dead Nation (from the same developers). It releases in a week’s time or so, but I’m guessing one of you guys

I’m so looking forward to being his bitch again! Hopefully, it’ll hurt less second time around...

There’s not going to be a used digital games market, as I see it. Only reason anyone would buy these games from you for store credit, is because they expect you to put down more to buy other games.

One of the fattest manuals to ever grace a (PS1) game was the one included with the first WipEout (EU version). Man, that was a hefty thing that was more than a centimeter thick, which was quite a lot considering the allround size of a PS1 game cover.

I know what you mean - I’d kill for a new Lode Runner ;)
