This is really annoying. They wonder why girls end up freaking out about their weight and looks starting at a young age!
I never said that the people I heard say 'Indian' when meaning 'Native American' were racist. Never once. What I referred to was when I lived in LA, I noticed that was something that people did. And, in fact, in the suburbs of LA, they were not using the term 'American Indian', but just 'Indian', and not because they…
Can I also just say that, I fall prey to the 'Skylar White effect'...but I have a theory about it. I don't think it has anything to do with my mindset, or the mindset of most people watching the shows. Because I generally prefer female characters. But the problem is that many of these writers are male, or at least…
Brenda from Six Feet under was a working mom towards the end there... hmm. yeah, hmmm. Not really many of those. That show that was on years ago, Judging Amy, she was a working mom. (a Judge, with a little girl.)... Okay, so not exactly anti-hero, but sort of.....in that direction, VEEP. Selena Meyer, she is not…
So, like...obvs everything about this is despicable.
I just.... Having grown up in a town in Mass. that made me hyper aware being culturally sensitive to well... especially Native American culture...I just don't know what I think about this. In some places that I've lived in this country they still use the name 'Indian' re: Native Americans (Hello, Los Angeles...wtf),…
You said this so well! Exactly! The comments above are all well and good, I mean, they make some tiny bit of logical sense (defending the dress at and makeup at least, she sort of forgot about the different body and eyes, etc), but it makes logical sense to adults. However, like you said, none of this is aimed at…
Agreed. It's a mixed bag. It's pretty much a miracle drug for me in the way that I went from having a migraine almost every single day for nine years, to now only having them about once a week. So in that regard, my quality of life has improved drastically. In other regards, it has been a little trying. To be honest,…
Oh man, I am on Topamax for migraines as well. I lost a bunch of weight after I started taking it about a year and a half ago (not so much because of taste issues, but just because of decreased appetite). I went from a size 4-6 to a size 2. But the nurse at my doctor's office NEVER mentioned the weight loss, however…
I'm not trying to say something inflammatory at all, so I apologize if this comes off that way, but I disagree that it is not the place of the doctor to mention weight EVER, or that they should only focus on blood pressure, heart rate, current blood sugar level, etc. as opposed to focusing on the weight itself.…
I too have had insomnia since...well, I guess my whole life. But now I just medicate myself to sleep (ambien). Maybe not the best solution, but you gotta do something. I still only get about 6 hours of sleep on average.
