Public librarians are just angels without wings.

I agree with everything you just said except (to a degree) the part about “telling former slaves how to feel.” The NYT called it “Lannsplaining,” and while that’s cute and sort of accurate, it also seems to me to be just a teeny bit a) faddish and b) unfair.
I know, and that’s a totally understandable reaction. But, you know, they’re handling it. With grace, even. With courage. If — God forbid — you are ever in a similar position, you will too.
And how that’s not illegal is beyond me.
So true! It’s really important that you take care of your health. If you suffer from depression, it seems only logical that excessive emphasis on the sadness and horror in the world might actually make you sicker. It’s not weak to skip the news for a while if you’re not in a position to handle it. That’s just being…
I’m really sorry. Don’t forget to take care of yourself. Your mom’s important, but you are too.
Lot of people don’t have enough to do. Shit like this keeps them busy and feeling important.
I’m so sorry. That sucks.
I hope your mom is doing well now. Cancer is awful and should drown in a boiling vat of hyena shit. And then apologize. And then drown in a vat of hyena shit again.
No one with any sense at all is going to lump your views on complementary medicine in with the child-killing philosophy espoused by these freaks. Anyone who does equate them is an idiot whose good opinion isn’t worth having.
Yeah, I’m not feeling much empathy for them myself. Can’t say it’s keeping me up at night, either.
Yeah, they’re real martyrs.
Yeah, Westerosi therapists are probably terrible!
That’s such an interesting observation. I expect you’re right, that’s probably a big factor in a lot of people’s dissatisfaction.
I think you’ve probably got a lot of company! My husband definitely isn’t the only one I’ve heard make this complaint. I don’t have any trouble understanding that point of view, either. It’s entirely valid.
Good point! I mostly don’t find myself rooting for anyone, but I definitely think everyone you named is a good candidate.
Good point!
Yep, it is.
Yep, exactly. I’ve had SLE for over 20 years, so I’ve had a lot of experience with the lovely effects of prednisone! Fortunately they usually wear off after the dose goes down. At least, that’s generally been my experience.
Sorry to hear that! My aunt likes Trump. 'Course, I wasn’t speaking to her anyway.
