Yes, very true and very well said — but I do also SO LONG to believe it has independent, external reality as well. Which is just tough luck, I guess, since proof isn’t available!

Exceedingly well put.

I never knew that, what a useful piece of information! (And what a civilized practice!)

I once had one of those things sitting on my chest. It wanted me to stop breathing. It was pure malevolence, disguised as a little red panda.

I hadn’t realized the “senior salute” went back that far. What a pity.

I think it exhibits a pretty damn batshit attitude. Having your first-choice college acceptance taken away is a suitable punishment for raping a young girl? (Or anyone else?) On what planet? If their child were the victim instead of the perpetrator, they’d be singing a different tune.

We’re not talking about the same thing. We’re talking about entirely different cultures.

Cornell rocks and is way too awesome for this raping shitworm!

I just have to say — I agree with you, but I just have to say — I went to one of those schools (a long time ago) and it was NOTHING like that. That kind of disrespect was just — unheard of. It seems like Schiff’s discussion of the case raises

It’s impossible to tell, sometimes!

AM is clearly either trolling or so deeply disturbed as to be quite beyond the reach of your attempts at rational, conversation.

I really, really wish I believed in God so I could pray for you. But since you are obviously a badass survivor/warrior, you probably don’t need my prayers anyway.

Nicely put.

Wow. I was raised by atheists too, but I guess in a much more atheist-friendly location. I had NO IDEA how freakishly religious our country was till I grew up. And dated a Seventh-Day Adventist.

MS sucks giant boulders. (I have lupus and sometimes use a cane as well, so your coworker and I are, like, cousins.) And you definitely should never trust vampires. No matter how cute and aw-shucks they may seem, they are only after ONE THING. (A book deal, obv.)
