So you recognize the cool factor of the GT2 compared to lesser 911s. Then why can’t you recognize the turd that the Mondial is? Just because it has the prancing horse on the hood doesn’t make it good. Sure, it’ll impress people who don’t know cars and if that’s what you’re after, cool. But that ain’t me, hence CP.

How many 911s do you see on a daily basis? I don’t see many 911s.  The Porsche SUVs on the other hand, they’re almost as common as their VAG cousins they share platforms with.

You say midwest, but where exactly? I live in Columbus, OH and if you go to the couple high end districts on the weekend, you can see all kinds of exotics. In the same day, I saw 2 Mclarens, an AMG GT, a Lambo, and a Bugatti Chiron. Only the Chiron got me to snap my neck. Now, when I visit my good friend in farm

Without the statute, it totally would be a state’s right vs. federal authority issue. Since we have the statute where the feds specifically ceded their authority, then Cali is well within their right. I was not aware of that detail when I made my initial post.

So what you’re saying is a revised Clean Air act could be passed that removes Cali’s statutory exemption (not that I’m advocating for that). I don’t know a whole lot about the details here, just spitballing on the whole state’s rights vs. federal authority situation as it applies to the auto industry.  At the end of

California is imposing it’s standards on cars made in Michigan, Tennessee, etc.. Like I said above, that’s an interstate business issue where the Feds have authority. Of course, we’re decades (centuries? did it ever truly exist?) removed from the ideal of a small federal government that existed to regulate interstate/i

My understanding is that at least Uber (not sure about Lyft) is starting to put requirements in where you can’t just start and stop when you want and that drivers can’t be as selective about which fares they accept as they’d like. If that is the case, then Uber is treating their drivers as employees instead of ICs.

Neutral: It is an interesting situation. Generally I believe in state’s rights, but one of the core powers of the federal government is to regulate interstate business. A pretty clear case can be made that emissions standards for motor vehicles are an interstate issue and not an intrastate issue. If Cali only applied t

I get what you’re saying.  For me, I’m buying the car to enjoy and a 997 Carrera S will be much more enjoyable to drive as a weekend fun car.  If you wanted a Mondial specifically, this car does appear to be a good value as far as Mondials go, but I find them to be CP in general lol

CP, for the same money, you can get a 997 Carrera S with less miles. If I had to have a Ferrari on the cheap, I’d rather spend just a bit more and get a 348 or 355 that can be had for less than $60k

For $30K, you can find nice low mile versions of pretty much any mid size car you want. I’m dealing with it right now. Wife wants a CUV, the number of 3 Series X-drives, C class 4Matics, etc... I find that she won’t even consider is frustrating to say the least. Hell, we found a 550Xi not much higher than our target

Race cars are light, they tended to skip across gravel instead of sinking, especially when talking about Formula 1 with their smooth belly pans.  That’s why gravel was replaced by pavement.

I haven’t seen the new special, but I loved his show on CC.  One of my favorite skits was the wife swap one where Dave was in whiteface, pleated khakis, and a button down oxford.  Total sendup of where/how I grew up and I thought it was brilliant.

I get what you’re saying, but my ‘16 F150 Platinum has all that tech (360* cameras, adaptive cruise control with radar, etc...) and my rates didn’t go up that much compared to the my ‘11 w/o the tech. I am in a low risk category though, over 40 married homeowner. I wonder what my rates would be like if I was single

I upgraded from an ‘11 F150 XLT w/o any of the new tech to a ‘16 F-150 Platinum with all the tech available that year and my insurance went from $65/month to $80/month, so not a huge increase really. At the end of the day, what drives insurance cost is the liability on bodily injury, not fixing the vehicles. You blow

When I was looking, the local dealer had a leftover ‘18 Lariat, Supercrew 4x4 with 5.0 and every option. Sticker was $62k, they were at $49 and wouldn’t budge and low balled me on my trade. Found my ‘16 5.0 Platinum with 32k for a lot less and got a lot better offer on my trade too. I wanted the 5.0 instead of the

I just went through the whole truck buying thing 2 months ago. Considered new and used between Tundra and F-150. You can’t push a Tundra up to where the Lariat goes, let alone the 3 other trims above it. If you wanted to be real, you’d be talking about the Platinum which is step 4 up the 6 step F-150 ladder (again,

Lariat isn’t even close to high trim. You have the Platinum, King Ranch and Limited above it (not counting the Raptor) and once you add options, the Lariat will get into the 60's.

It probably needs an engine rebuild.  It does have 100k on it and I seriously doubt it was fogged for long term storage.  No way it doesn’t have stuck rings on a cylinder or 2.

My 19 y/o stepson pays $210/month on a ‘16 Mazda 6.  He does have a ticket and a claim against him though.  I pay $80/month on my ‘16 F-150.  It’s true, once you’re old and married, insurance does get cheaper lol
