I had a problem with this one. You don’t make a big deal of giving something to a battered person in front of the person doing the (physical or emotional) battering because you can almost guarantee the batteree’s life will be measurably worse in the immediate future.

Trump said something trumplike. This is not news. But I’m sure the other GOP candidates are overjoyed that he finally said something they can safely dogpile on without alienating their base.

These few days are nothing. Trump will likely flame out the way other loud, headline grabbing candidates tend to do (see Herman Cain or Howard Dean, if you can find them) and Fox in the form of Roger Murdoch wants to speed that along and score massive ratings on the way.

I do think you brought out an important point, which is that some people do use such services even knowing how horrible they are because there is not other option at the time. I congratulate Oliver for talking about it at all, but not everyone is an ignorant yokel.

First, good on you for taking a moment to think about whether you might have responded out of emotion. That is so so sadly rare in comment sections (or, you know, life) and I highly respect anyone who does so. Especially when from your point of view, you’re not wrong.
