I assume the intent of the question was production cars.

Illinois and Alabama are where the Navistar plants are that used to made Powerstroke engines for Ford. The "Scorpion" is Ford's in house designed/built Powerstroke and is built at Ford's Chihuahua Mexico plant.
One time back in the day when I had a 5.0 Fox Mustang I was really frustrated waiting in a traffic jam. The traffic going the other way was also heavy, but at least moving. I decided I would make a U-turn at the next place to cross to the other side (it was a divided road/Blvd.) When their was an opening in the…
Here is a longer format version of Vildosola. Check out the in-car @~6:38. He hits an obstacle on a dry lake and launches himself skyward at 100mph+.
I caught a guy pissing on a car outside a bar one night. I told him not to be such an asshole. He yelled back that it was his car so he could piss on it all he wanted. Then he got into it and drove away.
Kinda, sorta related, I read at a French site that Peugeot may be planning to bring Loeb and their Pikes Peak record holding car to the 'Ring to attempt to set a new record.
Considering nobody else makes a 4 cylinder p/u, 5700 sales isn't a strong argument for anyone to make a serious investment there.
I like the industry news. The more the better. IMHO, as it is currently, it feels like nobody is trying too hard at Jalop on the weekend. I'd be happy to see an even larger list of topics than the current "shift" usually provides.
The source article is two years old. This isn't exactly new information or breaking news.
This standard really seems to focus a lot on power. To me, a lot of power when towing is really more of a luxury than a necessity. Ability to control the load, brake the load, and not overheat are more important. If ability to get to speed quickly was the controlling factor, most semi trucks would have a hard time…
I'm not saying a Navistar dealer couldn't stock Ford parts, but Ford if someone told you they had anything to do with the 6.7 Scorpion, they are wrong. Are you talking about the 6.4, because that is a Navistar product.
They are either lying to you or they are grossly misinformed.
Pickuptrucks.com did a shootout with the 2014 GMs and the Ford beat them in almost every category (acceleration, payload, towing). The GMC beat it in mpgs, but the Ford beat the Chevy. At best, the new GMs are an equal to the old Ford. They certainly can't claim to dominate even the old Ford.
Yet even with their weight advantage, the GM trucks don't really perform better the current F150. When the F150 is 700lb lighter, it isn't going to get better for the Siverado. The weights themselves are irrelevant. It is the results that matter.
A little background about the Mint 400. The Mint originally went out of existence in 1989. It was reborn in 2008 under the SNORE off road racing association. In 2012, the Martelli brothers took over as the owners of the rights to the Mint 400 and it became a part of the BITD off road series. The Martelli brothers…
Also, this exercise probably has a lot to do with promoting the Cummins/Nissan arrangement coming with the Titan. A production 4BT Frontier seems like a real stretch, but it keeps the discussion focused on them.
It has to do with the electric power draw, not a hp issue. Ford put out a technical bulletin a couple of years ago and stated that the F150s with the electrical assisted power steering shouldn't use a snow plow. With the weight of a plow, the electric power steering was drawing excess current and overburnening the…
3.4 seconds! That's a big fuckin deal.
There is already a huge aftermarket for trucks. You can buy any of the existing major trucks and turn it into anything you want - from a road racer, to a drag racer, to a desert racer. And there are places that will sell you a turnkey one of whatever you want. There might not be the sexy name attached to it, but…
