Artists (and writers, and musicians) should never sign a contract that promises “exposure” instead of $$$.

It seems pretty poor-form to accept the contract, do the work, take the payment and wait for the comic to go into print before you start tweeting how upset you are though.
As someone who has worked with major publishers for several years I can almost 100 percent guarantee the McElroys had no idea this was happening. Publishers do stuff like this all the time and typically, even when the authors find out they can't do much to stop it having signed contracts themselves.
I think $100 is too little, but how is this predatory? Are they tricking them into agreeing to this. Just tell them to fuck off, and if most people do that they will either need to raise their pay or you just go elsewhere.
Usually, I’d be on the side of artists or creators in most situations, but these people signed a contract, right? In exchange for a small bit of guest art, they are paid a small sum, but will receive massive exposure that they wouldn’t otherwise get? Then they can later share the art after the contract expires. How is…
Oh, honey, you know he’s an InfoWars devotee.
soooo, katrina was all your meteorology prof’s fault!
Impartial and unbiased aren’t the same thing, though. Nobody is unbiased, because we are all human and we all have beliefs that affect our opinions and our view of the world. However, you CAN be impartial, as long as you are willing and able to recognize and acknowledge your bias, because then you can compensate.
Anti-vax nutters go all the way back to 1808.
It seems to slowly be moving in the right direction. I used to encounter the dangerous and ignorant “I will never vaccinate my family” people often. Now it is more “I will do it, but on a delayed schedule”. Still just as uninformed and dangerous. But at least they are giving the vaccines. So I see that as slow…
Did they really use a closing shot of Fauci predicting a pandemic to imply that he started it?
The bit about her own lab not being able to replicate made me chuckle a bit.
Shkreli’s not BigPharma. BigPharma has plenty of bullshit to answer for, but they also provide an invaluable service, unlike vulture speculators like Shkreli.
The profitability of big pharma throws shade on your assumption that they’re charging high prices “just to get by.” They even get funding from the federal government. They’re doing fine.
it’s “debatable” whether vaccines save lives
Haven’t you shilled here before under a similar name?
In itstartswithme’s case, probably Breitbart. Or the Daily Stormer.
I wasn’t going to respond an ungray you, but since somebody else did...
First learn to use quotations properly, second we can tell you are the person who has liked your own comment, and third go back to the bridge you crawled out from under. This isn’t about left or right you fucking tool it is about peoples lives.
Any conversation is going to depend on who you’re talking to and what matters to them. Ask questions before you start telling them things.
