YES! I love the idea of having a way to tell people one's social comfort level in a simple, easy to see way. As someone an introvert with social anxiety, it would make things so much more relaxing AND I wouldn't worry about hurting the feelings of someone who means well and is otherwise nice but is a complete

Exactly.

It's even worse than that. This is a possible miscarriage since they don't even know if what they found was a fetus, yet they still think a massive manhunt with helicopters is the appropriate response.

My immediate thought was that it was a uterine cast or a really chunky period (I know I've passed chunks of tissue — not clots — the size of my thumb before).

Same here. I especially loved it when a former friend would invite me to hang out and then focused mostly on his phone the whole time.

Precisely. You cannot argue that games are art while also shutting down any criticism of them by whatever means you can. It does not work that way, and one of the definitive aspects of art is that it actually welcomes criticism.

Indeed. It's rather telling that so many developers are open to protecting their critics while so many gamers snarl and spew vitriol as soon as certain critiques are made. I'd wager that these developers know that because of their field of work that criticism is just part of the game and that if they listen to it they

Ignoring doesn't always work. For some, getting ignored makes them lash out even more. Even if it's on a platform that allows one to ignore users, such people will just make alternate accounts to keep "trolling" you.

Because abusers don't actually want to lose their victims. If they lose their victim they lose power/control, which is something they cannot abide and is why leaving is the most dangerous time for victims.

One of the things abusers do is to start alienating their victim from friends and family, so that even if someone tries to get the victim out the victim will reject them or return to the abuser as soon as they can. It's an insidious process and can be really hard to notice until it's too late since abusers don't just

White Knights (the proper ones, not what MRA's deem any guy who calls out sexism) are essentially Nice Guys in armour, so I would say the line is when they're ignoring/ talking over women to mansplain women's issues to other men and expecting to get something out of it for themselves. The biggest tell, of course, is

I know, right?

The response to Sarkeesian's videos actually lead to a new internet rule being defined.

Here's the thing with being a woman in such a situation: You cannot win.

I think it was Gawker who ran a piece on that clusterfuck a while back. Pretty much all signs pointed to things going wrong but the people in charge were determined they were right and refused to listen or think critically on things. The only thing they accomplished was showing other companies what not to do when

They did (to much outcry by Canadians like now), but they ended up spinning it off after the acquisition didn't go as planned, so when BK bought it, it was a Canadian company once again.

I guess he likes anything solidly-built with four legs and fur. He should be the god of kinky instead of the god of trickery.

It depends on who you talk to, but it would be very hard to be worse than BK.

Admittedly I can't speak for their coffee (don't drink coffee), but Timbits occupy a special place in my heart. So much better than full doughnuts and they have a nice selection.

The only handful of times I remember male developers in gaming getting death threats (yet never rape threats or threats to their family), by and large the response from the gaming community was that the person making the threats was completely unhinged and not representative of gaming as a whole. If a female developer
