100% agreed. With a little more oomph and A LOT more predictable reliability, the RX8 could have easily approached S2000 (or I dare say NSX) levels of greatness. Such a fantastic car to drive, but ultimately let down by the Achilles heel that is the RENESIS. I had a wonderful and relatively trouble-free experience

Yeah i just filled up our ICE (RX400h) and at 25mpg and $4.70/gal it’s $0.19/mile. Just the ICE number sounds suspiciously low. You’d need to average 30mpg at the US average of $3.40/gallon which isn’t really representative of the ICE fleet (it’s more like 25 mpg)

the EV is running on $0.36/kwh and gets about 333

The Elantra N isn’t faster than the GR Corolla on the same tires. But yeah, it is cheaper and it is available in an automatic... if that’s something you want?

I watched the whole thing and enjoyed it.

I completely see your point - my parents did the same thing. When the plot next to theirs came up for sale, they even bought it to guarantee a developer wouldn’t move in there. Most of the residences here are legit farms. This part of Oxford is mostly true farmland.

The 2.4/CVT pairing in the old Jeep/Dodge Compatriliber trio, mainly inside as outside was just meh, the most unpleasant yo-yo to droning piece of crap to have to listen to while driving. The rpm’s were never in the power band so always hunting, unless went full throttle and then that was all noise and no

Methinks some of you are too young to remember truly horrible sounding engines:

If Dodge drops the Charger and Challenger in lieu of making crate engines, bodies, and a la carte parts so one can build an entire old school muscle car in their own garage, then I guess that’s cool.

Lmao you’ve really built up an elaborate fantasy justification for clear failures within Tesla

Nothing is comparable about the NSX and cybertruck though. The NSX could have been delayed for as long as Honda felt was needed - it is a niche halo vehicle with incredibly low production numbers aimed at the kind of people who buy $200k+ exotic sports cars. The LFA is the same way - they scrapped it after finishing

REPU is funner than this.

I want actual Civic hatchbacks again. I want my fleet-chic S10 back (single cab, vinyl floors, and all). I want any fun 2+2 coupe that costs less than $30k without being the absolute base model. I want a designed-with-a-ruler full size truck with tweed seats that doesn’t cost 50 grand and can fit in a fucking garage.

The Datsun 620. Best truck ever. Small, cheap, no frills. The Maverick is close, but not close enough.

How about any generation CRX Si?  Those things were cheap, fuel-efficient and an absolute blast to drive.

If only.

I still have a DOHC Neon Coupe. Its still a lot of fun to drive, even if it is crude.

1st Gen CRX Si

I’m surprised not to see anyone call for old-school cheap and simple regular cab compact pickups. Like 80s/early 90s Nissan hardbodies, Toyota (pre-Tacoma) pickups, and Ford Rangers, in work-truck trim (manual windows and transmissions, surprising amounts of payload and very useful 6' beds, reasonably economical 4

I’m going to go with a YES.
