I haven’t heard of any northern state trying to officially remove evolution from school textbooks. There are plenty of idiots up north, but there are documented instances of southern states trying to legislate away science. That’s the difference.

I mean, not Italy’s finest moment for sure. Granted. Still, I think if I had the time or energy I could find some crazy US cases as well. Especially in the south, I’m pretty sure science is routinely ignored there (climate change and biology being immediate examples that spring to mind). Still, the earthquake thing

And yet America is the country with the highest incarceration rate in the world. What is it, 1/4 of people have some kind of criminal record? I don’t know that Italy is the problem.

Sure. “Worst in the world.” Very scientific. Listen, it may not be perfect but the US certainly messes up plenty on legal issues. Let’s not throw stones here.

I blame the parents for his spelling and grammar too. Probably a good education wasn’t on the top of their parenting list. At least his head is on straight though, that’s something. Probably took some strength to pull away from them.

How is this legal though? Aren’t religions a protected class? How is this store being allowed to be “Muslim-free” without also being business-license-free?

Rumours are of a whole flock.

I appreciate that you are trying to be fair and balanced. I’m strongly pro-choice, but there do exist some pro-life people who aren’t total hypocrites and who do make sane exceptions. They seem to be a minority sometimes, especially in the news, but they exist. And I certainly don’t want to go as off the rails as the

Unless your checked luggage was examined and you just didn’t realize...honestly, I don’t see it as being a race issue this time. When a handful of luggages are searched, it doesn’t slow anything down. When 13,000 luggages are searched, it slows things down. It’s not like they knew people’s races when they were

Especially if they are targeted towards teens or a younger market (I have no idea who their demographic is) the Facebook post feels a bit off target. I was a size 0 throughout high school. It wasn’t until after college that I filled out a bit to a size 2/4, but I ate like a horse and was totally healthy back then. I

Yes, but once the baby is BORN it’s no longer an invasion. I believe in full autonomy of a woman’s body and am very pro-choice, but once a baby is born it also has autonomy and killing it is flat out murder. I’m pro-choice because no one should have to be pregnant who doesn’t want to be. Once the baby is born, the

Well, as a former Floridian I made sure to blame other sections of the state (it’s really north Florida that is crazy), and when all else failed went to the beach and had cocktails. Sunny, umbrella-drink weather in January really makes up for a lot.

The behavior she’s trying to compel is to love someone they don’t love. That is not behavior you can control or demand. You are not in contempt of court for not loving someone, no matter what she says. And like others have said, the only two people she’s allowed to really order around are the two parents, not the

It’s actually an expensive Jewish camp (the kids are Jewish) that is apparently nice and elite (and expensive! In court they said 9k for the three of them). I don’t know who is being forced to pay for it though. So the camp is ok. But forcing them to go against their will is less ok.

Just try to remember - she’s not up for election again until 2020 and it’s so easy for stuff like this to fade. Or write to your senators/reps about getting her removed from office, that’s the only way to do it before then.

The so-called guardian they have was appointed by the court, and based on watching the hearing (live streamed) is the furthest thing from neutral there is. I feel like the mom must have personally turned him down for a date or killed his dog or something for him to have this much hate for her.

I don’t know. My mom HATED my dad after their divorce and can’t stop shit talking him now, even a decade later. That never stopped me from having a great relationship with him, and my younger siblings have decent relationships with him as well (there are several of us, so how close we each are to each parent varies).

There are two petitions, one with way more signatures than the other:

Me too. I’ve been reading all about it over the past two days and I keep getting more and more indignant and angry over this judge’s abuse of power. There is a petition to remove her from office ( http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/remov…) and another ‘We the People’ petition for the same, though that one doesn’t have
