Made redundant is the same as laid off; the company is attesting that the job you had is no longer required. The job disappeared, basically. They didn't fire all their staff, they made them redundant. There's a very big difference inherent in the terminology in the UK.

That was pretty irresponsible, then, without addressing the other high speed stability issues inherent in a production car design. Does it matter how fast they go if their driver and car roll into a ball at the end of it? Because it was mostly luck that wasn't the result this time.

Looking at the rev counter it seemed to be skipping a little - wonder if that was some rear end lift from the aero at that speed causing slight wheel spin and rear instability?
