"that final turn looks like one that drivers would typically take very wide in order to keep up speed for the final straight"
"that final turn looks like one that drivers would typically take very wide in order to keep up speed for the final straight"
I will assume that was a sarcastic comment. Right? What with double clutching only having a place in Tractors big rigs...
The weird intonation of the randomly rising and falling notes and emphasis of strange shouty man is very distracting...
Money.
I see the legendary Sebring bumps meant their 'driver view' GoPro had a superb shot of just the gear lever. Many's the in car footage come out of a Sebring session pointing at something weird.
Can you imagine how much later the F1 car could have left if they'd put a proper driver in there, though? Maybe 5 seconds later for Vettel?
What a terrible name. I do hope that one person's suspicion (that it will be referred to as USCAR) is wholely unfounded though. That'd be horrific.
Being specific is kind of missing the point, though. The bit I am refuting is that bigger is always safer. It isn't a claim you can make accurately.
"The "G-Spike" as you call it"
"The "G-Spike" as you call it"
"The whole bigger-is-safer mentality came about because people thought (rightly) that if they are bigger than the other car, they would be safer in a crash with that car"
More mass is not always beneficial - that is just not true. It is the crash impulse that kills you: the g-spike as you get stopped by the impact. The survivability of this is dependent on the crumple zones, not how much momentum you have.
"built by a company with real racing creds."
The car may not have been out of juice when the guy called the tow company and still been dead when the two truck arrived, though. It's possible for both to be right without refuting Musk's claim. If they guy sat waiting for the two truck company with car still on and with the heater on full then that would nicely fix…
His dad is a very irate person
That's a real shame. Legge is a solid driver (better than Danica, no question) and she always gets the shitty end of the deal because she doesn't get into a swimsuit quite so enthusiastically (ie at the drop of a hat). Saavedra deserves a second chance after his career got sidelined by falling off a scooter, but I'd…
Not really. He was employed by Mercedes in their sportscar (Le Mans etc) programme with Sauber and was given a shot by Eddie Jordan (merc paid some money for him, but not a full ride purchase) because he thought Schumacher was awesome. Which is why the be-wigged wonder was enormously pissed that Benetton (Flavio…
Highly amused that you bothered to put your seat belt on, even just trying to reverse over a chunk of snow, and considering that you'd have to get back out to pick up the camera before actually going on the street.
Street cars are often faster than their race counterparts? That is demonstrably and patently untrue.
You know that there are a huge amount of differences between the street car and the race Corvette, right? Like, an awful lot. The street Corvette doesn't even have the same spring geometry in the race car (at all - transverse leaf versus coil over) whereas the Porsche retains much more of its stock layout. Also…
