Downforce on a race car is, in part, another word for suction. If the covers aren’t fully welded to something that’s not going to move, then the covers are going to move. Happened in an Indy race in Baltimore about 10 years ago. It’s part of the cost of a street race - every single cover along the entire course needs

The grid penalty is the ultimate insult after a defective track ruins your car and costs beaucoup Euros to fix.

What’s needed is for the lot owner to sign a contract with a 2nd towing company to tow A1 whenever they appear on the lot.

I have a feeling A1 towing won’t have many contracts renewed in the coming years.

From what I understand yes there is a contract , but the tow company is essentially maliciously enforcing the contract, on purpose. The lot owner has tried to get the contract voided and IIRC he is working through the court system as we speak.

That would require the use of AI which is now banned by the strike settlement terms....

This article goes on and on and never really details what the sponsorship issue actually is. Oh, they filmed here, then there was a strike, which is over, none of which is relevant to the story.

Running more ads still costs more money, and the Valdez was a far more complex situation with a lot of factors at play, this is very much a black and white situation with a clear paper trail.

I have had Progressive, Farmers, Geico and now State Farm in the past 15 years. State Farm is the cheapest with the best coverage. When they start getting ridiculous on pricing I will switch (just like I did with the previous insurance companies). It’s like what I did back in the day with Dish and Direct TV, just flip

I think there is an argument to be made that these things were NEVER actually legal, since they sure as hell don’t meet Federal Motor Vehicle regs. But that said, I think it is fair to give a grace period. Many of these dumbasses are going to have to pay a shop to undo this (and I hope it wallet-hurts), and shops

The people you’re describing are the ones selling this grift.

What’s worse than a sovereign citizen? One who puts his sovereign citizen wife on speaker phone because she’s in charge!

Most of these idiots basically believe in a sort of legal magic: If they speak the proper “incantation” (the legal mumbo jumbo crap), then the officer will go “OMG you’re right, you’re free to go!”.

Assuming it’s a steam plant, it’s both heated water and cooling water.

Normally this is the point where I step into the comments to point out that folks don’t understand how IP protection works and that the freakout over Nintendo’s actions is misplaced, while pointing out Nintendo then needs to step up themselves to fill the void, but....

Regardless of if your stance is correct or not, doesn’t make the OP any less of a jerk.

Tbf only losers hobby shame.

I took a towing company to court for an incorrect 2 car tow. I won. They never paid me. I remembered at like 14 years before statute of limitations and went back to court and got 14 years of interest.  They were pissed.

Roam Towing” Companies seem to wrongfully tow cars from private property often. Often rental property owners don’t realize what conditions they agree to when they sign up with these often fraudulent businesses. As the “roaming” means that towing company employees & paid spotters decide if a car is “illegally parked”

Yes, this is extortion. Nobody should have to pay to get their vehicle back because some asshole towing company set a trap for them.
