At a typical gas station a stop (for me) is 3-5 minutes. When I am on a road trip? My Loves stop in Yuma is ALWAYS 15-20 minutes, not including waiting for a pump to open.  There is food, bathroom breaks for myself/wife/kids/dog, general stretching...  A slightly extended rest stop is not out of the question anyways,

We need charging stops with AMENITIES, and truck stops are a natural; a road traveler could even take a shower there on a long trip.

If we did that, the southern half of the country would float away. I saw a documentary on this subject one Saturday morning.

A seven-day repayment time would be nice, though it sure doesn’t seem like dealerships I’ve dealt with pay the license fees and taxes or loan balances on trades within anywhere near that amount of time. If that stuff gets done in 30 days after purchase, I feel lucky.

So, I do mostly web development these days, and “we have your HTML” is maybe the stupidest non-issue I can possibly imagine.

The onboard engine can recharge the car’s batteries at a rate of 49.05 kWh

Since he apparently breathes and, presumably, has a heartbeat, his Medulla oblongata is fine. Everything above it, though, seems to be feces.

It looks like it’s a ex-cop car bought by a private individual on the used car market.  It looks like there is no light bar on top and the police department decals are not on doors, fenders, or trunk.

AS an airline pilot I can tell you that descending 28,000 in ten minutes is 2800FPM which is not a plunge at all. It’s actually a litle slower than I would expect for a depressurization which at that rate wasn’t explosive and probably a fault of the air con packs which pressurize the plane meaning it would slowly lose

while dramatic for passengers, this is routine procedure when encountering de-pressurization at 36,000ft. At that altitude, passengers will start showing hypoxia symptoms within 20 seconds so it’s crucial to descend fast and rapid descent combined with oxygen masks dropping from the ceiling will create unpleasant

The google machine says an average passenger plane descends at 1500-3000 feet per minute. This one did it at 2800 feet per minute. Stop making it sound like they were on a fucking roller coaster.

Agreed. That's a impound the vehicle, contact someone to pick you up or take you to the station situation. Expired plates are one thing, this guy was clearly having a "I am above the law!" Moment.

Lets make sure to cover the rest of the story from the trib

Cops aren’t going to just give you a citation and send you on your way for driving around without a license in an unregistered vehicle no matter your “citizenship” status.

This went down the way it needed to. I am normally very critical of any killing at the hands of police but in this case it’s pretty black & white. This “Sovereign Citizen” was the aggressor and earned his Darwin award, full stop.

Curious what car you have that is new enough to have passive entry but not battery run down protection?

It took me 5+ minutes just to figure out how to adjust the mirrors the time I rented a Tesla Y - and I had driven a couple of them in the past. Plus I’m an engineer who drives a different car every week due to work travel. They are willfully different for the sake of being different. I can’t even imagine the average

It’s because of the frameless doors. The button allows the glass to drop down first before the door latch opens. The Corvette had electronic releases for the same reason.

If you weren’t all that tuned into automotive things - would you know that you needed to go to a Tesla supercharger?

I am with you on this one. Hell if you have never rented a car from a particular company it takes a few seconds to work out where all the switches in a dark rental garage. EVs are nearly experimental in their tech show off, Probably not a good thing to rent out to a non car person.
