Yup, fires in a gas car are 10 times more common (per million miles driven) than a Tesla fire. Tesla fires make the news because they are rare.

No, they can’t feasibly launch it into the sun. It needed one of our largest rockets just to get a small 1 ton Parker Probe close to the sun, and it still needed several gravity assists from Venus. You need a LOT of delta-V (around 42km/s) to both escape from earth AND change your orbit to impact the sun. But for most

A locking diff doesn’t stop the wheels from rotating when it “locks”, it only stops them from being different. It’s not the same as locking the brakes. But it might help by NOT stopping the wheels, just like ABS but more mechanical. (See JBT’s description above.)

The question is who is going to pay? NASA has asked for funding, but Congress has so far refused.

Bezos has yet to put up anything that stayed up.

Narrow the browser window. It will reformat into a simple list.

Make your browser window narrow, and the slideshow turns into a simple list. Much easier to read that way.

Could be a radio, too.

Looks like a full Avengers: The Musical. It also has Thor, Hulk, Loki, as well as maybe some of those Chitauri warriors?

Even smaller telescopes might have trouble resolving Saturn’s rings.

But wasn’t the payment option literally the only thing Fortnight was booted for a year ago? And if Epic resubmitted that exact version today, it would be legal under the new rules? So maybe they gave Apple enough to save face, but still get what they originally asked for. As long as they can get Apple to review the

But that convenience also hides the problem that many plastics can’t be recycled even if you put it in the bin. When it gets sorted, they just end in the trash anyways.

They are tearing down the Amazon to build farms. They are planting soy on those farms because it makes more money with less land and labor. The pig farmer will buy whatever is cheapest for the nutrition needed to grow the pigs, they aren’t too concerned what flavor that nutrition come in. Unfortunately the cost of

Depends what you mean by “convenience.” I’ve flown planes where 50 lbs would be make or break for flying two adults vs just the pilot alone. If the purpose of flying the plane is to get people from point A to point B, then leaving someone behind is a bit more than an inconvience.

As far as I know, everything critical in the Russian segment has a redundant analogue in the US segment. (With the possible exception of reboost engines, but those exist in two different modules on the Russian side.)

I’m curious what the greenhouse gas generated for fish farming is related to? Is it the electricity for filtering, temperature regulation, etc, that could conceivably be supplied by solar? Or is it something inherent about the biology (nutrients, respiration, water treatment chemicals, etc) of growing that many fish

Probably because it’s cheap, which probably relates to how much land, water, and labor it needs to grow.

Some of these have been mechanical/engine trouble. But you’re right, and that is actually the central argument Evergreen is using to fight the legal claims against the Ever Given.

Last time I called for a tow for my boat, they gave me a 45 minute estimate before they even arrived. But I guess the big guys would have a bit more priority.

Out of 163 ships they have for sale, 114 of them are ready to fly in the game right now. 13 of those were delivered in the past year.
