You guys should try Capsized+ on iPad. It is freaking AMAZING.

I did indeed sir, I did indeed. But I meant that as an attachable box that reads discs and uses the onboard chipsets to decode the information and stream the results to the PS4 hardware, like the X360 HD-DVD drive.

Yeah, I understand it's not the drive. I'm a programmer by trade so I understand the difficulty it would be in emulating something as complex as the Cell, hence why I mentioned the drive. The drive according the the patent would contain (at the time of filing) the Emotion Engine for PS2 games to be played on a PS3

There was a post a couple months back about Sony filing a patent for a separate drive that could play PS2 (and possible PS3) discs, kind of like the HD-DVD add-on player for the 360. If that were to release for PS4, I would completely jump on it day one.

What part of the Midwest? You ever miss it? Where are you now in CA? SF? LA? SD?

Same here. I was in LA and then moved to the Midwest 2 years ago. Been looking for a way back, and even looked at Zynga to see if there were any openings. I guess this kind of answers where their current situation is.

The news took me by surprise too, but now that I know, I guess it makes sense. I'm thinking/hoping that they needed to reset the launch windows of all of their devices in the fall to make way for the holiday shopping season. I just hope that now that the iPad 4th gen was announced, that we won't hear of the A7x

Only on iPad.

This looks like an upgraded version of Pulse from Cipher Prime...

There are A LOT more than 1-2 good PC indie games a year dude. The only ones that register to you are the ones that Kotaku apparently only covers. There's a lot more to indies than just Minecraft. What about Bastion from Supergiant Games, who some are from EA and other serious devs? They are a recent indie group

Yeah, here's hoping! Considering MSFT's policies for the last 20 or so years, and the fact that the 360 is still making them money, not likely. I think Sony or Nintendo have a better shot at this, especially Sony since they've definitely got more to lose.

This is mostly coming from a business/barrier to entry approach. The reason why is because the actual process of getting a game from concept to final submission costs substantially more than releasing on mobile, PC, Mac, or Steam. The only people that can actually afford these fees are the big publishers. Any of

As a game developer, I'll let you know why people in the industry continue to chant this. You're only seeing the consumer side of the coin, not the development side.

Agreed, I said the same thing as you did when there were still rumors of a PSP2 around.

You'd actually be surprised. PR is VERY important. All of those times you hear about games on any website, blog, or channel, etc., that was the PR department getting stuff out there.

I think that Sony just doesn't really look at creating a bulletproof eco-system that addresses everything and makes people want to own Sony products anymore. Sony used to be the Apple of this generation 20~40 some odd years ago, when they were always making cutting edge consumer technology. Anyone who probably

Thanks dude, I will!

Why not? I play games on my mobile devices moreso now than I do on console. I average about 20 hours a week. For mobile, I'd say that's pretty hardcore, no?

Care to elaborate?

So... here's a question. If you were to put a racing game on a mobile phone that caters to the userbase, even your uncle that doesn't like to play games, how would you design the control scheme? You can't say that you wouldn't put it on there because that defeats the whole point of the exercise.
