Here’s the added sad thing. Companies like Tesla supposedly represent the cutting edge of technology, the future, etc.

OK. Yep.
Movie marketing departments insist that “familiarity” actually sells a movie. They will always try to spoil a film. I think that they are full of it, and have started to avoid trailers for films I am most interested in seeing.
I like the movie that I actually saw much more than your proposed alternate version. But this does remind me of some disappointed fans who wanted a more straight ahead movie. On the other hand, the packed house loved what they saw. Go figure.
Fake Odin was not Hopkins (won’t reveal it here because SPOILERS)
Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan once called Hitler “great” and caught hell for it. Some white people call Robert E. Lee great and expect applause. Strange world.
So this says that the people want thugs to be their police.
I’m not seeing the controversy. Parallel Jesus is a Jesus Christ, not generic “Son of God” common to many religions. Not “some may interpret that as Jesus.” I took it as a parallel, alternate reality “He is the Christ, yes the Great Jesus Christ/Prove to me that you’re no fool, walk across my swimming pool.”
RE: I think the point was more that a similar religion popped up on this parallel earth as on real earth. Roddenberry was an avowed atheist.
When I say that “The Orville” is SF for dummies, I mean that the episodes often come across like warmed over, simplified Star Trek. This bothers some viewers, and pleases others. And if the jokes and comedy is frosting for the cake, it is often a sour batch that threatens to ruin the entire thing.
RE: But even in the U.S. military, basic professionalism and competence is expected of all officers, and there is disciplinary action for those who don’t measure up.
I actually liked this episode. I resigned myself to the idea that “The Orville” is Star Trek for Dummies, but this episode was actually enjoyable. Seth McFarlane tries to do sci fi from a comedic premise and here makes it work despite some obvious weaknesses. I don’t much care that the story has been done before on…
Orville is a comedy or comedy drama. Characters on comedy shows are stupid. The action always proceeds from someone doing something dumbth.
They are thugs.
Actually, when I think of Shakespeare meets Game of Thrones, “Macbeth” immediately comes to mind. The language of the play itself suggests a world unraveling because of the battles between various clans, and it is also a world which includes hints of magic and the supernatural.
RE: There’s some irony in that given he was once the gov of Tx.
I borrowed a quantum time jump machine and visited a parallel universe. Bernie Sanders lost there, in part because his support among Democrats was weaker than that for Clinton.
You have no point. Trying to tie Weinstein to Democrats is just stupid. But clearly the conservative talking point for now.
The sitting president of the United States is the P*ssy grabber in chief, and the Republican Party is his chief enabler and protector. And Fox News for decades has been Abuse of Women Central. But you want to focus on the Democrats? Sorry, that dog won’t hunt.
“equivocate?”
