I don't see how. Unless there's a guide each game needs to make which associates a button to color, and is long enough to drill it into the gamer's mind. Which is incredibly clunky, and leads to games with contradictory color schemes. Whereas this is a very minor aesthetic downside for a very large gameplay bonus.
