I noticed that too and was taken aback - though I’m giving him leeway on being a grieving father and rightfully pissed off.

I was going to say... uh 2013 wasn’t that long ago. I have a daughter born in 2013. She’s only 7. Fairly certain there are cops working now who received that training.
I feel dumber now for having read some of the responses on his twitter.
I am always happy when I have a reasoned and polite exchange with strangers online. Feels like finding a unicorn. I totally agree that she was the perfect balance of assertive and grace. Ideally, I’d love to see her in the pilot’s seat on this one.
So is your response going to be to ask every woman to justify their experiences to you - a dude? Feel free to continue to talk over women in the comments and the author herself, because you - a dude - got a different vibe. Just proving my point here, really.
Intersectionality does indeed matter.
I’ve seen him debate men before.
Men don’t see it because it doesn’t affect them. The world was built to cater to you (you write large). It’s not a personal reflection on you as a person and I appreciate your very reasonable comment. It’s just a general observation on how society function.
Much more eloquently said than me. Completely agree.
Are you a woman? I’m not asking to be combative, but I recognized that behaviour as something I have experienced before as a woman. I’m seeing all my female friends discuss the same element right now. It resonated with many women.
“Well, let me just say, I agree that we need to love and protect our Black women, there’s no question about that. But the fact...”
You got me, man.
Whataboutism. Always the sign of a winning argument.
The poor kid was hyperventilating because he thought he was going to die. A very real fear. Whether by the wannabe vigilante or the cops.
To non Americans, the pledge of allegiance is baffling. I expect to see that in dictatorships, not in a so-called democracy.
Immersion helps so much. When they send you on full time language training here, they send you to a very a french city so you are completely immersed. It can be 6 months to a year.
Welp. Guess I should really try then.
You give me hope! I’d love to be able to speak three languages.
That’s all very fascinating! Are you a linguist by profession by any chance?
I think as a third language it was extra perplexing. It has genders like French, but three not two, and knowing French was no help at all to learning German (romance vs Gallic). I weirdly love the sound of it though which is why I gave it a shot.
