My dog is way too smart for his own good, and I have not yet found a latch for my bathroom trash can that he can’t figure out. He also (and I apologize for the extreme grossness) likes to eat sodden tampons. This means I have to put the trash can somewhere out of his reach whenever it’s shark week.

My Dad is a paramedic, & while I don’t agree with his politics, & he can be a serious asshole sometimes, he’s *always* been willing to do what he can, even in dangerous situations. Of course he was trained & started his career in Baltimore City, so I’m sure experience helps.

I work with a guy who has this same delivery and it’s like everything is rehearsed. All of his stories are to the word exactly the same, every time he tells them. Same inflection, same pauses. Dude has ZERO self awareness, and I’m sure does this believing this makes him likable, but it really just makes him seem like

We serve medically frail seniors. We still have to get them home- they’re here waiting with us (we’re a medical day care center).

Yeah, we’re across the parking lot from IRC in the street that runs behind the center. They have us on a lock in until the PD release us- which won’t happen til Waterman is open again.

If you are being held against your will.. BLINK TWICE!

We’re across the street, in lockdown. Still sheltering in place.

docs, nurses, and first responders are truly the only way I’d believe in the existence of angels. I hope everything is still okay where you are.

Thanks, Doc, but it ain’t a thing. The people making me cry are the doctors and nurses. Nobody knows where the gunmen are, nobody knows who or what is safe, and these awesome humans are ready to respond not just here, but at the scene. Just point ‘em toward the bleeding people and get out of the way.

I’m literally crying because of how, in spite of the dangerous situation, you’re thinking about how someone else is doing.

That's what it seems like. We decided to pick up the kiddo anyway. Just gonna hunker down at home for the afternoon. Loma Linda will be a madhouse today. Good luck!!

We went and picked him up. I know he would have been fine but we figured it would be better for our sanity to have him home with us.

I’m at University of Redlands so I’m a few miles out. He is texting me regularly. My coworkers sister also works for IRC (she is also safe) and we are just hunkered down in our offices with the news streaming and our cell phones clenched in our hands. I appreciate your very lovely offer, though. <3

Holy shit, that is terrifying :( Stay safe, the both of you.

Up the street at a university? I’m at LLUMC right now. If you need a safe place to watch the news, I can meet you somewhere on campus and bring you to a TV and some coffee until you know he’s clear.

This is happening at my boyfriend’s work. IRC has two buildings. The shooters didn’t come into his building. However, his building is the one with a potential explosive in it now. He has been evacuated and is safe. I am up the street because I work at a local university and I’m just sitting here freaking the fuck out

Good to hear this amazing medical center is again rising to the occasion. This occasion being the madness that is now commonplace. Thanks for the updates, Kenny and all our best.

The entire area is alive with police from everywhere nearby.

It honestly makes me the angriest at the racist and xenophobic assholes who think the unwashed and malevolent masses are trying to take “their” country away. Fuckers, if you want to know what it feels like to have a bunch of violent religious zealots overthrow your country and fundamentally change your way of life,

Police are reportedly looking for “three white men in military gear.”
