That’s exactly what I do, at least with the one on my secondary TV, and it works just as you described. The one on my receiver is also connected to the power plug, but it can’t auto-select the correct input channel.

I’m fairly certain that’s incorrect, but if you can provide evidence to support that claim I’d be very interested to read it.

Mine is plugged into a receiver which does not have a readily available USB port for power. Not to mention, it’s an unnecessary potential point of failure.
