"How... that shouldn't be possible! It's been dead for years!" exclaimed Eric, shaking his head in disbelief. I spun around to see what had rattled him so badly, and there it was. I felt sick. It was unnatural. A hulking corpse, reanimated by hunger and greed. It was back because it simply refused to die. And

Well, I agree with you there- for someone making $50k and contributing 85% of their salary each paycheck it'd take five months to max out a 401k. That's not a very realistic scenario and it wouldn't be very beneficial anyway, so the article is definitely strange.

Or... you could increase the contribution percentage at a lower income. I max mine out by contributing 25% of my $70k income. Yes, I consider myself very fortunate to be able to work hard enough to earn that much, and no, I probably couldn't support a family of five on that paycheck here in southern California, but

Ha, that never seems to be in short supply. :)

I dunno, maybe. It just seems like a stretch to me- five entire families and their assorted lackies, many of whom feed on humans and/or spend part of the time in a state where they have limited control of themselves? That's a lot of creatures to keep in line and clean up after, perfectly, every time. If this

"This one's labeled 'Susan'."
One of the only two good lines in the episode, along with:
"...we SHIFT our SHAPE, it's all right there in the name."

Samaritan's interface is definitely cool, but I didn't think it's all that different from the Machine's. Mostly it's an inverted palette, and the thumbnails in the timeline are vertical rather than horizontal. It's a bit more chaotic but that's probably because its "higher functions" aren't active yet.

I'm convinced the Machine wanted Finch to get captured, to meet Greer and Samaritan face to face. It's unlikely that the fully-functional Machine would be outsmarted by a semi-operational Samaritan, or that it would allow Finch to give himself up. There has to be some reason it's beneficial for Finch to get taken-

The Chase Ink Bold business card is another great option. It offers two complimentary lounge visits each year for you and a guest, with additional visits costing only $27 each. Other benefits include 50,000 points after $5,000 worth of purchases in the first three months and no foreign-transaction fees. Its $95 annual

If you look at the location history in Google Maps (https://maps.google.com/locationhistor…) it can already tell when you're stationary, walking, or driving. It can probably figure out when you begin walking, and then associate the previous stationary point with your car.

Me too!

First thing I thought of was the "Brownie Coats" picture... turns out it's the same guy! He's actually done several of these.

The whole thing?

There have been a few entertaining io9 typos today. Rob insisted in another article that "if you're any kind of Godzilla watch the international trailer." I'm no Godzilla, but I got a chuckle out of that. [http://io9.com/this-new-godzi…]

Lanesplitting this fast is stupid. Lanesplitting at very low speeds is an efficient use of roads when traffic is otherwise not moving, and filtering to the front of line of vehicles at a stoplight is a good way to avoid being rear-ended by drivers who aren't paying attention.

Except for all of the amazing canyon roads that you can't find in most other places.

Ha! I just posted almost exactly the same picture... before reading the comments. Great minds and all that.

So that's where all of the old Jalopnik crew disappeared to.
