I’d imagine part of the reason child porn is sentenced far harder than rape is because lawmakers are much more likely to be rapists or sexual assaulters than they are to be child porn producers/collectors/etc.

Because child porn often involves a network of evil and even a conspiracy element — you can’t really walk into the video store and buy your child porn.

It’s not like modelling. When’s the last time a bunch of dudes made up a majority of a fashion show’s audience, and went around pawing at/hitting on the models? Hell, Hooters girls have a better work environment.
