So I've been wondering something. Obviously the crude comments are bad (well. Not obviously apparently for some...) But I started thinking about the level of entitlement we have for judging other people. I started wondering if I'm doing something that makes women uncomfortable. I'm into fashion a lot and I spend too

I don't. I hope she gets her own show where she becomes even more badass and awesome.

Ok serious question,

I've never catcalled. I didn't believe it was real until a coworker/friend of mine was catcalled in front of me.

I have a trick for that: if you make eye contact, don't avert your eyes. Rather, sustain it for a second and then look over his head. It feels forced and unnatural, because women almost always break eye contact first and look down. This is a subconscious signal of submission to his dominance, and you don't want to do

I know. I felt so unsafe and angry! Meeting someone's eyes accidentally is not an invitation to follow that person!

My all-time favourite JW moment:

I JUST WANT HER TO HAVE ANYTHING SHE WANTS RLY and i know l8 night hosts are super constrained by networks, but it's a whitewashed sausage fest of bland dudes saying nothing important, and i think she could potentially change that. even if she was as even keeled as the rest of them, her mere EXISTENCE would start a

Between this and Amy Schumer there has been a great uptick in hilarious and spot-on feminist commentary. It hits home - at least in my wholly unscientific review of people I know who don't usually think about these things (mostly dudes).

The Daily Show has 4 female writers right now, more than any other late night show. They also have several female producers and staffers with feministy leanings.

Yeah why do creeps think calling it a compliment makes it better? A couple of years ago, a frat boy loudly claimed he would "fuck the shit out of me" as my partner and i were walking down the street. When we objected he said it was supposed to be a compliment. Yeah, but most compliments never ruin my day!

But like not too many because I sort of am excited for her to spread her wings and get her own show or something.

Can i just say the thing about not making eye contact was spot on? Because that happened to me on the subway last month when this dude decided that since I randomly made eye contact with him, it meant he could follow me out of the station, on to the fucking street and try to flag me down and have a conversation. I

jessica has a fucking future ahead of her. i think she would be excellent as a late night host.

Conversation I had the other night around 11:30pm after parking my car in Brooklyn:

Jessica Williams is a treasure, and I hope she'll continue to be on The Daily Show for many, many years to come.

OMG this segment was magic. i highly recommend the daily show podcast as well. In the first episodes, Jessica Williams and the female writers on the Daily Show staff discuss how they came up with some of the other segments om sexism and sexual assault. Definitely worth hearing.

From the color of the antennae, position of the "landing gear", and shape of the face, it looks like a male European paper wasp. If so, he's all buzz and no sting; males lack the necessary equipment.

Oh man, I can't believe it took this long for someone to make this joke. I mean, there is literally nothing else to say about this story but to make the perfect Simpsons reference.

This reminds of the time on the Simpson, when Homer goes to space and the ants get loose in the shuttle. Then Kent Brockman assumes giant space ants are about to take over the Earth and immediately sells out the human race on the air, and offers to help the ants.
