I was merely referring to the singular book to which you referred, not suggesting that there was only one. I don’t know why you would assume I am touch with either of those two. I was demoted to the greys on Jezebel years ago due to my habit of rewriting the science and health articles in the comments, and for making

Yeah, fuck that. After two years of torture, my biggest bully cut in front of me at the water fountain. So I pushed her head into it and she chipped a tooth on the bubbler. End of problem.

Would you tell me what it is? I would be interested in reading a deeper dive on the subject. For these are just my observations from viewing the news through the lens of behavioral psychology. I’ve always been deeply wary of social media because it is so obviously designed to play on our cognitive foibles, but the end

Sorry, I primarily know Jack Palance from Ripley’s Believe It or Not and endless internet jokes about his persona, rather than his film oeuvre.

I can’t tell if you’re making a Jack Palance joke that I’m not getting, or if you mean “parlance.”

Thus furthering their goal of taking America back to the 19th century, when rich robber barons didn’t get called out for being rich robber barons.

Well, the best way to hear what I mean in a paragraph about what I wrote elsewhere on the thread would be to read that, probably, since you are obviously not just saying that to be argumentative. ; )

I do not think that Twitter is wrong for blocking phone numbers. On the contrary, I ended a long two-part post about multiple real-world consequences of biased algorithms by pointing out that this is quantifiably different than the kinds of things they are trying to connect it with and why.

Not only did I never say it was, in the second half of the post, I explicitly pointed out how a phone number is different.

This isn’t just a failure to do any kind of meaningful analysis, it’s quite often a failure to miss the actual point, with no little to no effort made to draw even the most obvious of connections.

It’s indisputably true that abuse directed by the kind of people who wrote the algorithm towards people who are not like them stays up a lot longer than abuse directed at them. Because just as black neighborhoods are more heavily policed than white ones, so are the social media accounts of anyone other than white men.

On the one hand, I hear you.

You forgot to put quotes around “analysing.” I analyse the contents of my toilet more closely than this lot analyse the events of the day.

The Arab Spring is what made the architects of our current situation start drawing their plans.

White House aides have gone on the record as saying that Miller actively enjoys the pictures of crying children at the border. That he is literally reveling in it. It’s not about political gain for him, it’s about causing anyone who isn’t a white man as much pain as possible. That has been the single guiding principle

The original infrastructure was publicly funded by DoD, and much of the early expansion and improvement was done by research institutions, many of which are publicly funded. The reason we have the slowest, shittiest internet in the industrialized world is because the telecoms refuse to invest any more than the bare

You forgot the part where they get raped by their white captors as a form of ethnic cleansing.

Everything I just said both there, and in the other half of the post which got eaten and had to be posted separately, comes directly from research done on social media by a variety of different institutions, which you are welcome to look up for yourself.

Cue tons of racist, sexist abuse from people who insist she isn’t a real American.

Oh yes it is. The second half of my post disappeared, so I had to post it separately.
