I like the concept, but the Angband player in me could never embrace such a setup.

I don't think we can blame Samsung for not backing down. Apple has drawn blood. I'm sure Samsung wants retribution, or to guard their patents at the very least.

I like the map, I like all the factors taken in to consideration. The colors seem a bit off though. With a 51-48 vote shouldn't this thing be a bit more purple/red? Looking at it from a zoomed out perspective, the blue is quite overwhelming. Maybe its just the way I perceive the two colors.

Rubbing alcohol is actually pretty mild as solvents go. It removes things like sharpie quite well, but a deposited coating, paint, rubberized surface, etc. would take some serious elbow grease. Over time even gentle use of rubbing alcohol may degrade the coating, but no one should be getting ink on their tablet that

No one has any question as to where you stand.

Gizmodo logic: Posts macro images... says macro images don't matter.

Does the 440 PPI screen look better than the 326 PPI screen? Is it an appreciable upgrade?

Well now be fair. Apple and other tech companies are probably throwing an overwhelming number of patent applications at the wall. A few terrible ones are bound to make it over. That's where the courts come in.

They stopped reading the article at bacon.

This won't cause head scratching the world over... only in the US. Like most of Apple's other troll patents, this will not fly outside of the US. I am sure other countries patent offices have their issues, but the US patent office is uniquely broken.

So you don't think companies should be able to buy patents? Think about how that affects not only every major tech company in the world, but the poor suckers being awarded the patents.

Well done Gizmodo. Take a patent suit out of context and whip your commenters in to a pro-Apple frenzy. The only "troll" in this story is the author of the Gizmodo post.

Why fourth? They keep breaking when you drop them?

Oh good.. they let Sam out from under the bridge to troll up some more page hits.

The Nexus is obviously the better buy. It would be a no brainer if you were not already entrenched in the Apple ecosystem.

Insightful! The article's main point remains intact (using the sun's energy to divert a white object), but there are quite a few problems with your standard paintball. More of a fun "what if" to get across the real point than a true solution.

Another point... although the rainforests are often called the "lungs" of the world, that really couldn't be farther from the truth. Recent studies have pinned the rainforests of the world to about 2-5% of total oxygen generation. When we think about oxygen creators we think about trees/forests, but shrublands and

It is widely acknowledged that the oceans produce over 50% of the worlds oxygen. Recent studies have pointed to figures of 85% or higher even, but as always... our understand of this continues to be refined.

Think of the differences between the competition and this product. Says this comes in at $350-400. Is the competition really 30-40% better? That is a pretty huge gap. That is the difference between a brand new car and a 3 years used car.
