I already pointed out your error elsewhere, but here it is again.
I have no problem with ejections for arguing balls and strikes, but yeah, going at him from the dugout deserves the heave-ho. That’s a no brainer ejection.
Why would anyone want to strangle this guy?
Every player that argues balls and strikes deserves a fuck you.
Former baseball player here, family members have worked as coaches and umps. You’re 100% right. He’s de-escalating – both reducing the likelihood that Harper is going to do some other dumb thing in response to perceived aggression (after all, Harper is the goose laying the lovely golden eggs, so we must not lead him…
It’s a rulebook mandated ejection.
This is the ump simply being a man.
That would speed up the game. 12 x a night we wait for the hitter to unload on the home plate ump for a strike call? Solid idea.
Nah. Just make the player ump for a couple of innings & the other players will kill the pissy little bizznatch before the 7th-inning stretch. Totally.
And the only reason we're saying it worked is because Zimmerman was 2-19. If he had even gone 5-19 we're probably not talking about it the same. But Zimmerman sucks and here we are.
I think multiple times in this series the Cubs would have been less likely to walk or pitch around Harper if Murphy were behind him. This extreme treatment cam precisely because they knew they had nothing to worry about from Zimmerman.
He might have to get the hat redone to say, “Make Base on Balls Fun Again.”
Dis true. You’re already creating outrageous amounts of value for Harper by putting him on base every AB. If the rest of the lineup can’t hit a baseball out of the infield, that’s a team problem. The exact same thing happened with Bonds and Jeff Kent won an MVP on his coattails making teams pay dearly for it. 1.021…
It’s not full-on Barry Bonds treatment until people make jokes about the size of his head.
I imagine this is the inner Joe Madden monologue.
Scoreboard. Scoreboard. Scoreboard.
That’s the Nats problem, not the opposing teams problem. This whole idea that it’s chicken shit baseball is ludicrous. Last time I checked managers and players get paid to win ball games, not worry about opposing teams players and fans feelings.
But that didn’t happen, did it? We’re talking about a Trump supporter denying a Bernie supporter help. Could the same happen if it was the reverse? Certainly. Would most Trump supporters do the same that this guy did? Likely not, because they’re probably not assholes. But trying to justify this because the possibility…
Bullshit.
but god? He prob would have done that. Old testament god is a total dick
