I mean, without sabermetrics, I just wouldn’t have any clue whatsoever whether Mike Trout was a good player or not. Thanks, WAR!

Nah, fuck them, they voted against all that stuff, they can own the consequences of their vote.
Yah, I spent a few years in Hawaii as a kid, and we had a grapefruit tree that churned out waaaaay too many fruit, so we freely gave them away and didn’t give one hot damn if someone came down and snagged a couple for breakfast.
Short answer: the NFL now hates it because the Pats did it in the Super Bowl.

Iverson is pretty close to Carmelo. “Look at all those points he scores in isolation! Also, no rings.”
Oddly, I suspect Edgar’s getting a bump *because of* Papi. Papi is a stronger candidate to resolve the “DHs?” issue (because of the rings), and I think with folks easing back on the DH concern, they’re giving Edgar a second, better look.
Yah, if you want to just post “Fuck Duke” articles constantly, hell yah, I’ll click you guys til even your goddamn gofers get bonuses big enough to buy boats.

Well, I was paying attention, so him being less-than-memorable is even more pronounced (for me, Biggio was always the more interesting player to watch). IMHO, bare numbers aren’t always the best measure (looking at you, Todd “My Home/Away Splits Suck” Helton) - otherwise, we have the Hall of Statistically Impressive…

Yah, I remember when NAFTA caused Flint to collapse in the 1980s, dipshit.
Yes and no. Economically, the left has been bending over backward to lift everyone (versus the usual “tax breaks for the rich” strategy of the right): bank regulation after the recession, Obamacare, pushes for minimum wage increases, etc. In terms of social issues, I’d agree there’s a gulf there, but I don’t know…
It’s out of the Dems’ hands now. GOP in the White House, Senate, and House. At this point going forward, it’s them shitting on themselves.
Spoiler alert: it’s not going to get better for them. It’s been downhill for them since the Reagan administration, but they keep voting for the folks that ship their jobs overseas, bankrupt their pensions, pull their social safety nets, etc. Asking for sympathy while shooting yourself in the foot really only…
