Having put raisins in a lot of different dishes I can tell you a re-hydrated raisin tastes pretty much just like a juicy... raisin. Once it crosses the “raisin” threshold, there’s no going back.

LoL. Not at all. Not. At. All. As a matter of fact, I can recall stacking the little boxes as I sorted through my haul. I could also trade some of the candy that I didn’t care for for more raisins from my sister.

I grew up just south of Fresno in that hot, dry San Joaquin Valley you mention. I managed to escape by joining the Navy after high school and have seldom been back. The entire Valley is one, big socio-economic experiment gone horribly wrong.

I’ve just recently started cooking with leeks and this is a great idea... I’ll be putting grilled salmon on the menu in the next couple of weeks so I’ll give this a go..

Exactly! I make a cookie-sheet pizza pretty much every Friday night. Add a little onion or garlic powder to the bread dough, make up a quick herbed tomato sauce, sliced pepperoni and shredded mozz and throw it in the oven, Good to Go!
