So you would like Mistborn. Brandon Sanderson, the author, set the first trilogy in your standard Medieval fantasy setting. The sequel series is set in the Wild West. The next series is supposed to be set in an equivalent of the 20th century. And eventually he is going to set a trilogy in the far future.

Or: Disney gives into people seeing a problem where it does not exist and stops selling a perfectly fine costume that any child of any race should be able to wear.

Why are we assuming the kids who will wear this are white?

I look forward to the day when atheists can encounter religion without being total assholes about it.

Honestly, this is the first I’ve ever heard that childhood friends getting married is somehow strange. Most people I know think it’s sweet. How do I know this? I’ve been friends with my two oldest friends since kindergarten, and I was the one who officiated their wedding about a year ago. That’s right, two people who

I can respond to number 2, as it’s definitely an odd scene if you don’t see what its purpose in the film is. (Also, a quick note - there’s hints of their divorce throughout, but they’re tough to notice until that scene.)

My parents are Mormon and do attempt to have a year’s supply of food. I can say for them it is more about planning and independence. When my Mom went back to school and things were really tight financially they used food storage as like dipping into savings. My parents had bought almost all of our non-perishable food

So, a lot of the likely explanations for why men complete suicide at a much higher rate has to do with the way that boys are socialized to externalize their emotions much more commonly, while girls are socialized to internalize. This contributes to the fact that boys and men are more likely to be diagnosed with

A basic human right? Wow. You guys can take something as simple as bottle water and turn it into some bull-shit bleeding-heart liberal human rights cause. Giz has gone so far downhill recently it's appalling.

Decent, but check out this Super Jet I designed:

It's a long-held belief, not just among stoners, that marijuana is the safest drug. A new scientific study comparing the risks associated with various drugs backs this up

I liked the first one. The second one was just okay. The third one was TERRIBLE. I stopped reading 25% of the way though. I have no idea how they're going to handle that disaster when it comes to the movie.

If you're a UK resident you may well have heard the saying "From Hull, Hell and Halifax may the Good Lord deliver us." The reason Halifax is on the list is because of the Halifax Gibbet - and early form of the guillotine. The interesting thing is the gibbet is still here and waiting for use - though the blade needs

Won't work.

Yeah, I have no desire to argue about it either, it's just the way I feel. This show means so many things to so many different people and every possible aspect has been pored over again and again that nothing new ever comes of it.

This ought to be fun. The final season had a lot of issues, most notably the temple and the final maguffin, but I love the idea that the afterlife is what we make of it and that no matter what happens in our lives or when or how we leave them, our friends and family are always there for us in the end.

I've always wanted to write a book where the main characters have to speak to the computers in some sort of bastardized German. Long story short, in the day when AI development was hopping, the work was centered in some place that spoke German, and it was cheaper to adapt the operators than rewrite the software. (And
