It's funny that the whole "creative types vs. network types" conflict seems to have existed since the beginning of TV. I remember a writer on "Ozzie and Harriet" saying he was told the idea was "cast white; write Jewish". But if a show is well-written and funny, I think it's audience will eventually find it.
