There's actually different generations of the Dualshock 3, the first DS3 has a piece of plastic between R/L1 and R/L2 that can be slid off in disassembly. The generation after has quietly replaced that with the bottom shell being all one piece. The R/L2 assembly was also different.

You could buy a battery for like 4 to 15 bucks, and it'll work in your controller. Even better possibly, as some of the after market batteries have a larger capacity than the stock DS3 battery.

I don't know why Transsexual was suddenly a four-letter word, it made sense to me as meaning a person's gender and sex doesn't match. Transgendered would be more confusing, because it means much more than gender dysphoria due to having a gender not match your sex.
