It’s sad because it’s true.

“So, pick a random player”

Unfortunately this is all too true. On the PC these days especially the game is like DayZ only the penalties for acting like a prick or dying are far less severe than they are in that game.

Some people are far too reckless with these things. I would never contemplate violating one of the games industry-related or other NDA’s that I’ve signed over the years and I can’t believe that other people often do it so haphazardly.

Kind of like those things but not quite as depressing fortunately.

I was thinking more along the lines of the frequent “leaks” that seem to affect companies like Sony and Ubisoft.

You just made my fucking day. I loved the first Destiny but always felt that it missed being released on the platform that really could have served it best.

I really wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of these “leaks” happen on purpose. Has anyone else noticed that they always seem to involve the same publishers and platform holders?

Well Titanfall uses Azure more heavily than probably any other game or game related platform around and I can’t see that game sticking around for all that much longer.

The Japanese games industry isn’t extremely discriminating towards foreigners simply because the correct combination of passion and skill can be hard to find.

It has had a very good run. I’m honestly surprised that Microsoft haven’t started this with the 360 in the west yet. They must be itching to pull the plug on those 360 Live servers.

Mine lasted for around 3 years and I didn’t even use it heavily. It was a BC model from Japan and chose to kill itself just after I’d spent a fortune on used PS2 games in Akihabara a couple of months earlier.

Releasing a game costs money. A shit ton of money, especially back in those days. Sometimes it’s much easier and cheaper for a publisher to just cut their losses and shelve the project. The IP and assets remain theirs so they can always reuse them later if necessary anyway.

That they still think people would be willing to pay $60 for this on Steam after all the negative press and backlash it has received over the last 6 months shows signs of being simply delusional tbh.

For what was supposed to be a generation defining game, that is pretty tragic tbh.

Are a lot of people still playing this? (Not being sarcastic, I’m actually genuinely interested).

It actually took more bravery to run the Satellaview service in Japan because while cable internet was in growing demand in America, satellite data was prohibitively expensive in Japan, just as it has always been.

I never even knew this existed. I grew up in a country where home internet wasn’t really a thing until the very late 90's so the fact that you could do this in 1994 just blew my god damn mind.

Obviously you do shit head otherwise you wouldn’t have bothered to post that reply.
