Of course DRM helps profitability. Reddit and certain forums reveal a small army of users who were just waiting to pirate the shit out of this game and did exactly that as soon as a cracked version was made available.

I think this is just because it has done its job. Denuvo is designed to protect a game at launch when most full priced sales are generated. It isn’t meant to protect a game permanently.

That rule definitely applies to K-pop and a few others but I’m not sure if it is the case here. If it was then I doubt he would be allowed to talk about it anyway.

Given that his cafe is in the Sky Tree and had a line of tourists waiting outside this afternoon, I’m afraid that I have to call bullshit on this one.

In that case I probably just won’t bother. I only wanted it as a novelty item and the controllers are probably too small for my hands anyway. Plus the cables connecting the controllers to the console are apparently ridiculously short.

To be fair I did spent 6 months working on an academic thesis that largely focused on that very subject last year.

I was attacked the other day for the outlandish, controversial suggestion that Super Mario Run, at $10, costs more than the average iOS game.

Are the Mini Famicom’s available in Yodobashi, Bic Camera, Trader etc or are they this year’s equivalent of the Yokai Watch?

Let’s not jump to conclusions. It’s most likely that people just didn’t read his post properly.

I think you’ve misunderstood. I read that as he purchased a console that previously been banned by a pirate.

It’s not like these studios are taking your money before delivering a game.

You’re kidding, they’re actually charging for this?

Did you not read my above comment when I specifically referred to No Man’s Sky as being an exception. The people who made that particular game don’t deserve the time of day nevermind anybody’s money.

I agree but unfortunately they’re all chasing that Christmas/Black Friday top-seller title. In Japan it works a lot more like your ideal because Christmas isn’t the big deal that it is in North America, the UK etc.

I don’t believe so, no. The only thing that bothers me are delays at the very last minute, especially when it clear that a game isn’t going to meet it’s schedule for months such was the case with the original Watch Dogs and No Man’s Sky etc.

Ah, the good old Christmas rush. I really wish they would put a few of these games back in the oven occasionally when they need it. There’s always too much to buy and play at around this time of the year anyway and I really doubt anybody is scrambling for the release of this game apart from Ubisoft’s shareholders.

The PS2 looked like an Atari VCS throwback and the original PS3 form factor design was obviously inspired by a George Foreman grill.

One of my friends has one of these things and he’s talking about it like it’s the greatest thing since sliced bread played King Lear. I think he might just be trying to justify the purchase to himself though.

Stay away from my Slammers. They are mine and shall remain mine forever.
