This was the first episode of the entire series that I’d consider decent because it finally provided both some relatively creative main plot and advanced it. That said, it still had many of the writing flaws that have been a frustrating component of the series.

I feel like we could have gotten to this point an episode ago, which is a shame because the story and characters are now starting to get interesting and the season only has a couple of episodes left. One of these upcoming episodes is likely going to be la taken up with flashbacks of whatever Sol is feeling guilty

I recall reading that when Starliner returns, the bits that have failed burn up so that would make post-landing examination difficult.

It might be worthy to note that the location where all the problems are is on the trunk of the capsule. That’s the part they will disconnect before entering the atmosphere and it will burn up leaving the capsule to (hopefully) safely land back on Earth. So understandable that they want to get as much information as

“a ship with its registry is seen in Prodigy’s season 1 finale having been heavily damaged, if not destroyed outright”

Good on her.

The ship in Prodigy is not a refit of Voyager, it’s the Voyager-A, a considerably larger Lamarr-class ship (named for Hedy Lamarr). Picard established, and the season 2 premiere mentioned, that the original Voyager is in the Fleet Museum now.

I prefer keyboard and mouse myself. But controller is not that hard to pick up. Just find one you like and go with it.

Xbox and PlayStation controllers - at least the current generation OEM ones - are totally interchangeable IMO/IME. They both have two sticks, a d-pad, four buttons, and two sets of triggers in virtually the same positions; the sticks are in a very slightly different position but, like, I still use the same thumbs.

It’s not comparable to gamepads that have highly variable basic layouts (sticks high or low, dpad or buttons, back triggers and buttons all highly brand specific) and entirely different button location and assignments

To me, it still feels like a mystery because it’s several smaller mysteries - first, we’re trying to figure out why and how Osha killed a Jedi Master, then how Mae is still alive, then what Mae is trying to do, then who Mae’s master is. Though, you’re right, it doesn’t ultimately feel like a mystery, just a thriller

I think part of the problem is that the show is, at its core, a mystery - initially in a “who is killing these Jedi” way, though that immediately led to other mysteries about Mae and her master. And when you’re writing a mystery, it can be hard to distinguish between “here’s a thing we know but you don’t know” and

Unless that padawan is Ahsoka Tano, then all bets are off! Interestingly, I’m not sure if this was intended or just my brain trying to draw parallels, but I kept thinking of Jecki as the High Republic version of Ahsoka so I expected her to be plucky, very talented with the Force, and unkillable. Expectation subverted!

I gotta think I would have seen the Qimir twist coming if I didn’t love Manny Jacinto so much on The Good Place. I was like “oh, this is like Star Wars Jason, except less dumb” (he’d kinda have to be less dumb). But I thought it was a great reveal, totally flew under the radar for me.

SpaceX has 0 experience with EVA suits, they only have IVA suits. Its like step 2 out of 20, a full EVA suit needs a lot more than even SpaceX’s prototype EVA suit needs. Just because its SpaceX doesn’t mean its better and that everything else is “from the 60s”

The action was among the best star wars has shown to date.

Plus, Finn Jones still wants to return as Marvel’s Iron Fist.

Twitch be like:

I loved nearly everything in this series –– it’s the most fun I’ve had watching Doctor Who in many, many years — but I agree that in grand RTD tradition, the second half of the finale was a mess. I like the “Ruby’s mom is no one important” because none of the theories advanced were anything short of colossally stupid,

Bluesky is worth using.
