Man I wish you weren’t right about customers, but you’re right on the money. All they care about is getting a good deal. they want what they want, even if it’s unrealistic as hell. “Crew cab, V8" is something I hear at least 20 times a day at the chevy dealer where I work.
The success of the EV F-150 will really tell the future of all EV’s in this country. Trucks still sell like crazy, and it’ll be interesting to see how many Cletuses will buy an electric truck. For my money, it’ll be an uphill battle trying to convince them that going electric is the way to go considering some ford…
The design looks to be polarizing, but at least it’s not boring. Could do without the crazy amount of creases on the doors, but I’m really digging the interior and the wraparound effect.
They wear jean shorts while mowing the grass anyway, seems reasonable to me.
Maybe this is the way they can save the Malibu, by actually making it competitive and not giving up on the midsize car market entirely.
This is the best thing to happen to GM in a long time. Honda better be telling GM to knock it off with their cheap as hell interiors, because my Malibu isn’t anywhere near as nice as the Accord in terms of interior quality.
Too many screens. The materials look high end, though. For the price people will pay for it, it has the appropriate amount of gaudiness.
It’s quite unbelievable how much money the finance guys make at my dealership, they truly have it made. All they try to do is upsell the shit out of customers for warranties that don’t even cover everything. They don’t care about them one bit. They only see moneybags walking in the door. I guess that’s what sales will…
I don’t see the huge issue with this. Is he lost?
They are selling well, GM just doesn’t seem to think there’s a market for douche bros with trust funds to stupidly spend their money. If Raptor sales are to be thought of as a benchmark for souped up offroad trucks, then GM either doesn’t know about it or doesn’t care. I’d go with the latter.
Meanwhile, GM is sitting twiddling its thumbs, believing that the only markets worth catering to are soccer moms and boomers who love their Vettes.
Through the people I deal with at our Chevy dealership, I would say only 15-20% of customers will actually use their trucks properly trucks and do truck like things with them. The rest of them only want a truck because they only want the capability and because they MIGHT put some mulch in the bed for their yard a…
These vans were giant pieces of shit back in the day. At least you won’t have to spend too many euros fixing it up.
I mean, really, who uses those tailgate “features” besides the the bro who shows it as a party trick to his jealous buddies?
The obtuse hyprocrites are the ones who take their jacked up trucks to Costco, only to show off and say they COULD take their trucks offroad. Suburban families are ALWAYS impressed when they see these things. /s
I’d imagine only about 15-20% of buyers of this Franken-truck will actually offroad it. Imagine having that capability and overpaying only to never use it. Masculinity sure seems to manifest itself in weird ways.
The Chevy dealership where I work won’t be back to our pre-COVID capacity until spring of next year, and that’s IF the plants remain open. We’re slowly getting deliveries of the new Tahoe, at least. (I don’t know who can justify paying $65K for an LT Tahoe but that’s another story for a different day).
Choosing to be ignorant to the world is how Trump was elected, so definitely not surprised. Choosing not to pay attention to the world around them and only worry for themselves is a classic white boomer hallmark.
It appears that “looking at the big picture” isn’t for everyone. Having perspective can help a ton.
