16A? I’m in the US and I’ve only seen 15A for lights and room plugs and 20A for kitchen.

The devices just use half the amperage. A 12A device at 120V would only use 6A at 240V.

The width hasn’t really been shrinking for the reason you described. Plane width is static, the pitch is what is adjusted. I work commercial cabin interiors and seating.

As long as they can demonstrate a total evacuation in 90 seconds nothing else matters.
