As a lifelong gamer you'll recognise that backwards compatibility is by far the exception not the rule. No console til the PS2 (that I can think of readily) did backwards compatibility.
Okay - while Im a lifelong PC gamer allow me a riposte or two.
To be honest I think 2015 is about right (allowing for licensing etc). The Tegra 5, due just next year, Nvidia claims has better GPU performance than the PS3.
Resting meat is essential. In the undisputed meat bible it recommends big roasts get at least half an hour resting time. Consider it part of the cooking time.
This is potentially good news for Microsoft. If Apple start putting motion tech in their Apple TVs or even in their laptops, it simply familiarises more and more people with motion control. Within a couple of years a significant minority of people will certainly be using voice control for their phones. If there are…
Here's a question - do Sony still have the financial muscle to take a loss and market this at the same price Xbox One by itself? That would be a devastating move - but I'm not sure they can afford to do so any more.

C major = Boring.
You know one percent out of the box is actually pretty poor. 1% after a few months, or even 5 to 10 after a year would be understandable - but on day 1? Bleurgh.
I wonder what their baby will look like?
Im not sure thats quite true. The PS3 was a fair bit more powerful than the 360. Sure there was difficulties in developing for the platform, but by the end PS3 games looked a good deal better than 360 games. Didn't really translate into a big difference in sales or influence.
Hmm. I have to say that none of the next gen consoles are exciting me right now.
