Im with Adam on this. As far as DAWS go its pretty even. However a few key pieces of Sony's utterly awesome range aren't on Mac - Sony Acid is a big miss, and Soundforge on Mac is terrible compared to the Windows version. Sure there's Wavelab, but Soundforge is just the daddy of post-production software and nothing

I feel the same way. I love being alone and think there's no stigma attached that I feel. Maybe thats because I so rarely get the chance to actually be alone?

This is up there with www.expertsexchange.com (Experts-Exchange) for not reading back what you just wrote down.

I was a bit "meh" when I first tried it a couple of phones ago. It struck me as a neat trick, but not a lot more.

Firstly, if you're with someone for 10 years and split up acrimoniously you're heart broken, married or not. The marriage is not what makes you hurt, its the separation.

Personally I find anything less than 20 minutes just too little. I need a little time to transfer from home mode to work mode. The reverse is particularly true. I need a little time to just decompress before walking in the door. I also found it rather disconcerting working and living within about 2 square miles. I

Its worse than just having lots of notifications. If you use due dates for things that dont really need them, how do you differentiate between those things that you'd like to get done by a certain date and those that must be done by a certain date. Since most people don't complete all their like-tos on time, you're

Sorry I didn't try that out before I went for a refund.

I know that there is a school of thought that fast-charging is damaging for the USB port (phone side) on Android phones. I have no idea whether its true but there was a fairly long debate on whether it should be introduced to cyanogenmod or not, that had some solid evidence against its introduction by electronic

These things depend on what the aim of the notes are, something people dont often think about.

You get no option to choose - which is a deal breaker for me sadly, since on every app I tried it unfortunately wasn't the widget I wanted. Refunded.

Yeah, social networks are encouraged here, but generally with a work slant. The not for profit sector we work in is a comparative niche area, so we stay with our colleagues in other charities via social media. Its hard to say whether having a random chat with someone you get on with well, but is a work connection, is

You can use Skitch with Evernote to take notes.

Id made great engines, and from Doom to Quake 2, that was enough. Some college level imagination robots or devils was as good as it good in the mainstream shooter world.

Why bother? The magic in the Half-life games is that they're cinematic computer games, they nicely blend aspects of both those media to make you feel like you're in a film.

If you're talking new to Linux, but they're a dab hand at Windows/Macs, then I would always go for Ubuntu. Figuring out where icons lives, how dash works etc - that'll take most people a couple of days at most.

That's only partly true.

It strikes me that the biggest problem is the mad rate of change in the tablet world at the moment. Sod Moore Law (he says, tongue in cheek), tablet and phone makers are in a crazy arms race at the mo. Personally I'd be worried that in 12 months time you'll get this kind of heft in Win8 tablets costing less than half

Without wishing to divert the thread, any commenting system that requires multiple clicks to see the comments is a bad idea on a site like Kotaku. Most people on a site like this will just whizz through 90% of the posts rather than sit and read like they would a magazine. Hence they're unlikely to spend time pinging

Have you had experience of using it in a full on small business server/exchange setting? Using my iPad and Android phone is an uphill struggle, but I've heard mixed things about whether Win phones are better at it.
