Its not a big deal, but is there really no taste difference between a good vodka and that paint-stripper I used to drink as a teenager? Hard to believe.

I disagree that using tech solutions to connect people to lawyers and legal information is inappropriate. I also believe that the increased competition is par for the course in every other profession.

Like all these things - it works if you have the skill and imagination to make it work.

Dont skimp on the money, at least at first. If you decide that jeans, shoes and a sweater (for example) are the way forward make sure you get a really nice set of them. You can build your wardrobe from there onwards but then you have a benchmark for the quality you think is acceptable.

Thanks for the insult. Naturally there has to be a hardware aspect. Where does the software exist otherwise? However the reverse is true. Even your slimline remote is controlling software within your TV or receiver.

Yeah. If I'm at my desk but not working on the PC I turn the screen off. that makes a huge difference.

To be honest the idea that Cloud computing is needed to carry the overheads of computing power seems a bit suspect to me. Think about it, say you have 50,000 players playing on a busy weekend. Are those servers going to be providing combined computer power substantially greater than 50,000 home PCs? So much greater

Ultimately you still have the same problem - if I'm on my PS3 then want to play my Wii I have to find the TV remote, change channels,, swap disks, lower/raise the audio, then go through a dozen licensing screens before I reach the game.

This may not be the place to discuss it (and given the House of Lords in the UK im not throwing stones here) but if you have a legislative and executive that are completely separate, and end up with one learning left one leaning right, do you not frequently end up at an impasse?

Can it play God of War Ascension?

No one device does it all, now or ever. The PS4 and Xbox whatever-its-called arent going to show you live TV, except perhaps in limited cases, and they're not going to stream from your NAS box without having to add irritating third party servers.

I think that OneNote is far better at what it does. A truly excellent program I used as a daily for years.

I'm increasingly keen on the new Blackberry, the ability to use the odd Android app is a big draw. Not for the big one's (Facebook etc) but there are a lot of small tools that I use on Android that I would miss - a decent GTD app, a live bus countdown timer for London and my home town, a decent game of Scrabble.

Yeah once, a few years ago. Someone tried to poach me from a charity I was working for. Frankly I had a very strong loyalty to the place I worked for so didn't want to go.

How ironic irony can be.

It depends on whether you think that chatting to your co-worker is conducive to a good working environment. I'm fine with people chatting in the office because it helps people communicate with one another. Sounds daft, but when people are prepared to disagree over football in a light hearted way, it opens them up.

nice

2 weeks? Is that standard in the US, even at manager level?

Excellent point.
