Most consoles have duff launch line ups. It was months before I got a decent title for my Megadrive, I had to do with Altered Beast.

I'm sure this discussion is old on Kotalu - but what is the aim of this box? £1000 for a box that (I assume) will fill none of the other tasks your PC can do while also playing games, while having a far narrower library of games than either PCs or consoles?
Well it depends on your practice I suppose and defining it is rather difficult.
Trouble is then you have to prop the thing up, which rules out playing on the daily commute.
I know its just a library pic to illustrate the article but I worry that the ol' cross legged person sat on a hill/beach/forest floor puts people off. You can meditate perfectly well sat in your favourite chair or lying in your bed. Or indeed, once you kind of catch it, on the bus or at your desk during lunch.
Done, I have a Nexus with Cyanogen on it. Its not so much the launcher, the apps are increasingly using the holo UI. Its good there's a single design style, but I just dont like it.
Frankly, tea is every bit as arcane as coffee, if you let it be.
We just moved house. For each box of stuff we wrote what room we wanted it to go in when we got there, rather than just a list of whats in it (we did that too). Braindead after a long day and a long drive, it was great not having to think about what goes where. The guys doing the moving just took the boxes without…
Lots of reasons. Maybe it was the latest/greatest phone when they came to upgrade. Maybe they have an iPad and Mac already and want something to fit into that ecosystem. Maybe there's a specific app they want to use, or need to use for work. Maybe they had a bad experience with a poor handset. Maybe they like to be…
I've only used Android on phones, though I do have an iPad. To be honest, I'm not in love with it and would happily swap for another OS if it had the same functionality. Sadly none do right now. I just don't like the Holo aesthetic. It looks like the cover of a William Gibson novel. That's fine if you're a teenager,…
The second is the best to my mind. The first was great but it was such a new idea that they hadn't quite figured out what worked and what didnt. There were too many zombies in the first one. The second one was much better, took everything good from the first game and gave you more of it, ditched the stuff that didnt…
The designers of Endless Ocean, a game which only exists as a relaxing aquatic location, are gutted right about now.
I agree. I think QTEs are a bit like games that involve occasional sneaking, or taking an AI buddy from point A to B. Make it fun, short and achievable and its a great little change of pace. Make them numerous or difficult and they become frustrating, since they're not actually the reason youre playing.
Depends whether you can be bothered.
If there's one thing I'd love in a remake its a more interesting sea-scape. I found that sailing around got old. It was fun enough for a while, but when you had to hunt down those numerous treasure chest towards the end of the game I just got a bit bored of it. I think part of the problem was that the sea was uniform.…
This is one of those ideas that sounds cool on paper, but people just look at you like a freak if you do it in front of other people.
I find it hard working from home, but thats mainly due to the baby.
Amen. I cant tell you how irritating it is a senior manager when people come to you to moan about something without having any idea about what to do about it.
I particularly like David Allen's old line that most people's To Do lists are just "an incomplete list of unclear things".
I don't know if you've read the excellent analysis of the PS4's likely capabilities on Ars Technica.
