If I’ve learned anything it’s that HR IS NOT YOUR FRIEND. I, fortunately, haven’t had cause to need to consider complaining to HR (male privilege, most likely) but I have heard other horror stories - my wife’s included - where HR is only there to serve the interests of the corporation.
It was easy for me. On Trump’s election I sent the “liberal bastions” of media - CNN, MSNBC, etc.. - to go fuck themselves and have not tuned in to one minute of their broadcast since. Jezebel, WaPo, and the NYTimes are where I get my news moving forward.
