As someone who has built a kit car, wow, this is good news. If these small companies can get a bit of economy of scale going, it’ll save many of us from infinitely stalled projects.

No VTEC until you hit the third bar on the temperature gauge if I recall correctly.
Oh, I’m totally hooning your Honda Beat when it gets here now that I know your password.
For the first timer, the first corner will be an hour. 15 minutes for the other side.
It’s hard to mess this up. Most cars (once the wheels are off) it’s like 3-4 bolts to do pads and rotors. It is easy, and hard to screw up. I agree here. Save HUNDREDS of dollars.
This will be someone’s Nth car, I’m betting. Those who can drop $142K don’t worry about monthly payments.
Well, they fixed it. I went up and over, landed back on the wheels. Still a ton of damage. I drove that car for another 170,000 miles after that.
I rolled a 2002 WRX Wagon. I overcooked a corner and went of the track into a rather poorly placed drainage culvert. Anywhere else, it would have just been a spin. The car was almost, almost, drivable. But still had over $14K worth of damage.
This was in 2003. Afterwards, it was time for a dedicated track car. Now, of course, we’ve added a trailer, a cage, a Spec Miata, etc...
I got lucky. When I called State Farm to get my tow home covered, they asked when I was filing a claim. I told them where I was and what happened (no “oh, a deer!” stories).
It’s not just YOU driving. It’s other people on the track, too, you know. If you can’t risk it, perhaps you shouldn’t track it.
THIS.
As someone who rolled their daily (on which I was still making payments), I wholly agree. A $2000 Miata was worth it afterwards.
I just did the same thing, looking for manual 5-Series. They are out there, but EVERY SINGLE AD that says “manual” isn’t one. I’m guessing dealerships are sloppy...
Sorry, I hate T-Tops.
And deathly serious as a Nazi General in Valkyrie.
One of my favorite quotes is “I’m not wearing women’s clothes. They are my clothes. I bought them.”
One of my takeaways from reading Izzard’s autobiography was her take on gender. I’m HEAVILY paraphrasing below.
Ah, yes, we had to do the same thing. Oil leak from the alternator bracket.
Just verifying that the car has the right f’ing transmission in it is worth it. “Manual Transmission” means 3-pedals! It’s not hard, except for Skippy, the dude responsible for online listings.
